Cannot remove tv guide banner from Sony bravia 52'

I have a sony bravia 52' tv and cannot remove the tv guide banner. Does anyone know how to remove the tv guide banner/program from the tv settings.... it is very distracting as it takes a few minutes to disappear.

On your TV remote control, click on the "input" button, then use the up and down buttons (the rounded buttons) to select either "component 1" or "HDM1" or what ever is the correct "link" to where your input picture is coming from
