My comp wont recognize the mic

When I first brought the mic I had no problems. Fast forward 2 months and now it says USB device not recognized. Every now and then it works but most of the time it is not recognized. I'm using xp if this helps.

Re: My comp wont recognize the mic

Have you tried another USB cable? Failing that, can you try the mic on another computer, take it round to your friends house or something?

If it still misbehaves, it's obviously gone faulty and needs fixing. Get in touch with the retailer or Samson support.

Why does my computer tell me my cou1 mic has malfunctioned everytime I plug it into the usb port?

Sounds like a defective mic. Test it on another computer, with another USB cable, and if it still doesn't work, call customer service and they'll send a replacement.

My microphone stopped working about 30 minutes ago after i tripped over the cord which unplugged it from the usb port. I can't figure out why it wont recognize input anymore.

1) Have you tried a new device in the USB port?

2) If so, and it still does not work, the port must be damaged.

3) If not, replace the mic.

Hope this helps!

How do I get my Behringer C-1U mic to work?

I'm having the same problem, however I can say that Phantom Power is out of the question. the c-1u is a variation of the c-1. The difference is that the u doesnt require phantom power

My mac is not recognizing Bluemic

Try flipping the connection at the back of the mic. If you have it hooked up upside down, the light will come on, but the mic will not be recognized either in your recording software or in system settings.

There doesn't seem to be any indicator on the cord as to which way is up. I marked mine with a marker. Problem solved!

Problem with Samson CO1U

Here are some instructions relayed from someone who was able to fix a similar problme with help from Samson tech support:

The C01U is a WAV device. Therefore, adjusting the slider for your default MIC input level on the volume control applet does not adjust the gain on the C01U. You access the actual volume control for the C01U as follows:

Start, Settings, Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices
Click on Audio tab.

Under "Sound Recording", insure that Default Device is selected as Samson C01U.

Once Samson C01U is selected as Default Recording Device, click on the Volume button just below the name. A new window will pop up, with a vertical slider. This window will be labelled "WAVE IN", however it actually does control the MIC volume for the C01U.

The key here seems to be that the USB device that represents the Microphone input (as far as Windows is concerned) is not a traditional microphone, but (as mentioned above) a WAV-IN device.
