MP3 PLAYER PROBLEM (by 8 users)

posted by LEYLAA on Sep 05, 2007

Hello, i hope you can help me.

I bought an mp3 player today from asda and its called DURABRAND S08 (256MB) MP3 PLAYER OR DIGITAL AUDIO PLAYER. I had an user guide among other equipments in the pack. First of all, i have put the little cd into Pc and followed the instructions on the guide book. It said click the Step.exe to start driver installation. Follow the on-screen-menu to complete the installation.. I have finished the installation. On the step2, it wanted me to click close button and restart the computer when reach the following screen on the book. ( the screen of mp3 player utilities V1.28) I have restarted my pc. After those introductions, there was a title called "converting .ACT audio to .WAV adio." in the guide book. I have ignored that title because i didnt have any .ACT aduio i wanted to convert into a .Wav audio. THe next title was "formatting the internal memory". I followed the steps which told me to "connect the USB cable to mp3 player and my computer." I did it. The second step wanted me to "click on start button, select programs > mp3 player utilities 1.45 > mp3 player disk tool" which i accurately did. On step 3: it said that "the following screen will lunch" ( the screen of mp3 player disk tool) but it didnt. Instead of that, an error appeared and it was this: "not detected removable disk! please check the disk connecting, or reboot system." i checked the disk and usb cable, it was perfectly plugged into pc. I am using Windows XP. I cant download any mp3 or WMA tracks into the mp3 player because on the "my computer" place, there isnt a removable disk on the window as i need that to drag the songs. I am waiting an answer as soon as possible. Thank you very much.

Go into control panel, find your network connections diagram, click on the USB that is connecting your player and note the lettered drive, this is where you will send the files.

I bypassed Windows XP and went for VISTA as it has the compatability tool for syncing older programs with these newer ones. My daughter is running XP so I'll call her tomorrow and get back to you if she has some info to help, her husband does most of the music downloads for their family, I'll check with him also.

I'm fairly certain your 'player disk tool will be found in your system tray of programs. Find it open it with windows explorer to see if what you need is there. Connect your player, check that in control panel it shows up as connected, and try a download. With my new one I had to dig into what was on the disk with administrator authority to find the correct driver for the formatting of the disk and the logs; like phonebook, contacts. They were all written for anything XP or before, so I had fun. Good Luck, Walneta
