Question about Hoover Portapower C2094 Bagged Canister Vacuum

Hoover Canister Pulled Vacuum Cleaner

I need a new bottom ( the piece that you push on the carpet) b/c the little stem, that attaches to the hose, broke. I've glued it, but it won't stay- I need a new-whatever that piece is called at the end of the hose-with the wheels.

Bissell Bagless Upright Vacuum not working

If your Bissell upright vacuum cleaner is not cleaning like it did when it was new, then you need to provide a bit of maintenance or service. I will tell you how you can do this maintenance to your Bissell vacuum.

First, make sure that your floor vacuum is unplugged. Then you can work safely on your Bissell bagless vacuum.

If your Bissell upright vacuum is losing suction, then the next thing to check is the canister. It is very easy to simply forget to dump the canister.
The while you have the canister out, check the filter inside the canister to make sure that it is not plugged full of dirt. This filter can be difficult to access, but a little persistence will pay off. When you get the bottom of the cup open and remove the filter, use a bit of soapy water to wash out the filter. You can then reassemble the filter into the bottom of the canister.

On the left side of the vacuum there is also a HEPA filter Bissell has there to help filter the air even more. Remove that, clean it also and replace it.

The hose is the next thing to check. You can completely detach the hose from the vacuum. Check the hole at the bottom where the hose hooks up to make sure the hole is not plugged. Then stretch out the hose and run something like a coat hanger through it to make sure that there are no obstructions inside the hose. You should be able to hold the hose up to a light and see right through it.

The last thing to check is your Bissell vacuum belt. If the belt is too loose it will slip and not spin the brush properly. Bissell belts can be purchased online easily, or in many grocery stores. If your Bissell upright cleaner has a slipping belt, it may also be because of strings, carpet pieces, etc… getting wrapped around the brush. Remove the vacuum brush and cut off everything that is wrapped around it. Always be careful of the vacuum belt after you have just used your vacuum. The belt will be very hot just after use.

These steps will help you to get your Bissell upright vacuum cleaner working like new again.

Why is water pouring out the bottom when I try to use upholstery attachment?

On many hoover models the hose attaches to the vacuum and is held on by a clip on the hose assembly. There may be some damage to your hose or the place where it attaches to the machine. Inspect these areas trying to locate the point of the leak.

Hoover carpet cleaner does not **** water it blows

push the little square thingy down on the very front of the bottom bucket, then put the lid on before you put it on the machine, then let the force of putting it together push the front thingy up when you put the bottom bucket on the machine as one assembly..... it makes the seal right somehow..... wife about pulled her hair out before we figured it out the hard way...... I may get a reward tonight......

Water does not come out when button is pushed

Check these items:
(1) When the trigger is pulled, does the rubber pad behind the tank seal on the handle get pressed down? A rod in the upper handle presses this rubber valve to dispense water/soap.
(2) Are any hoses kinked closed at the bottom pivot point of the lower handle, where attached to base?

Won't spray

This could be caused by several things. First take the clean water tank off of the machine, and turn it upside down to inspect the bottom of the tank. There should be a gasket with a spring and valve stem, which you should be able to move the valve stem up into the tank when pushed upwards. If you notice that there is no gasket, or vale stem, you'll need to purchase a new clean solution tank.

If the valve stem and gasket are ok, then it is most likely going to the pump assembly that has gone bad. This is a little more difficult repair, you should probably look up your closest Hoover repair center, or independent vacuum repair store, and take it in to them to have it repaired.

My Hoover will not turn on

there was probably a leak in the hose/piping near the pump in the vacuum that shorted out the motor. you will need a new motor for the vacuum. you will also need a new pump assembly. i strongly recommend that you also replace all the internal tubing and places where the pipes join.

Clogged vacuum hose

I used a snake like they sell for unclogging pipes. I can use the snake on one end to break it up. I attach the other end to my industrial wet.dry vac and **** it clean. Sometimes I cannot imagine how it fills half a five gallon bucket of dog hair and stuff.

How do you dismantle handle to replace aforementioned hose?
Swing arm on unit goes all the way to the floor. Is this normal? Is there a "stop" broken that caused the hose to stretch, and ultimately break?

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover SteamVac Carpet / Upholstery Deep Carpet Cleaner.

There are handle screws that you can get into the handle and then you can back track the replace the interior hose for the cleaning attachment. There should not be a stop that caused the hose to stretch ad break. The hoses after a while do get old crack and break due from normal use or if the bend @ sharp angles, this is common among all vinyl vacuum cleaner hoses. You should really check with your local factory authorized Hoover vac dealer in your area or , please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions. Query relating to Hoover Portapower (UK model S1126) Hi, I have the old UK version of the Hoover Portapower (model no S1126) which is beige coloured with an orange and black stripe on the left hand side. I bought this machine off EBay and it is immaculate and according to the seller has hardly ever been used. The machine works very well and with great suction. I turned it on however the other week to clean a room and it had been running a while a few minutes before cleaning this room and was fine. On turning it on again I noticed the motor did not sound quite right for a second or so as it sounded a little slow to power up fully but then was fine so thought nothing of it. When I turned the machine off again, I heard a squealing sound coming from the motor as it winded down. I have tried machine since and hoovered car with it the other day as I thought I would test it incase the motor was burning out and there was no problems or strange sounds at all. Any idea of what the squealing may have been and will it now be ok in the future? When I hoovered the car the machine was in use again for about half an hour so would have thought if the motor was on the way out after it squealing a few weeks ago it would have blown whilst hoovering the car which it didn't. If I experience a motor burnout in the future what exactly happens and will I get injured by it? Many thanks if anybody knows what the squealing sound could have been. I'm thinking possibly some debris or something got sucked into it? I know my model is not the C2094 but thought with it being more or less the same machine, it wouldn?t make any difference.
