If its cooling fine the first thing to check would be the 4 way valve maybe its not switching over when you change from heating to cooling you would need an engineer to check this as you would need to check gas pressures

The LPC is an indication that your low pressure control has tripped in your outdoor unit. First thing you want to do is go to the outdoor unit and see if it's iced over or covered with snow if so clear it. The low pressure control is there to protect the outdoor unit from damage usually under normal operation the heat pump will have a defrost cycle that keeps the ice off the outdoor coil. During this cycle electric heaters come on to maintain the temperature in the house. These are also known as backup heaters (2nd stage heat) they are also used during an emergency heat situation such as a failure in the heat pump. It would be ok to operate until help artives.
The outdoor unit is running? Measure temp split between return and supply and see if any difference. Does it cool ok? What is the temp split in cooling?
Ducted A/C has an internal fancoil unit installed in the roof space of the home. From this central location, a series of ducts run from it and into as many rooms in the house as the owner desires. From these ducts, this allows you to cool or heat each room individually – called zoning Split systems stand out for their relatively low initial purchase price. Another perk is that the installation is not so invasive – it can often be done in a day or less from a licensed technician. Though, being that the unit is fairly small, it is best suited to cooling or heating one room – this is either a positive or negative depending on how you look at it. On one hand, it’s an efficient option if you only need to cool or heat one room, but on the other hand they are less effective in larger spaces. Rarely could a split system air conditioner cool or heat an entire home. Split system air cons are great options for small areas, but lack the power to affect larger spaces – this is reflected in their relatively cheap purchase price, from around $1,000-$2,000.
split air cons come in both configurations and are mostly in the last few years with inverter systems
you can get cooling only or cooling and heating systems
some brands only have the cooling only on the smaller units ( 8000 btu units)
A split system has the parts split up between indoors and outdoors. A heat pump heats and cools your living space with the same unit. A split heat pump has the system split between indoors and outdoors and heats or cools your living space. a SPLIT PUMP sounds like something that has broken.
Look, if you select a temperature above ambient temperature, it will switch from cooling to heating.(assuming that the aircon has a heat pump. most do these days.) Just dont rush the aircon because every time you make a setting change, it takes a while to regulate.
sound to be in heat modenow. If you are after the cool mode, then if you have a cool setting and a heat temp setting, Lower the heat to almost off and set the cool setting to 74 degrees. See if the outside coils get warm. Make sure you are off manualo and n auto. If it runs, give it some time and the tenp of the outside coil will rise and the inside will get cold. Food Luck
is the system zoned? if so maybe the zoning control board to the damper motor is wired improperly. when a system freezez its because of 1- restricted air flow across coil, (maybe dirty filter) or 2-low refrigerant charge. again could depend on how its zoned.
