Brake light and turn signal light not working

I have a 2004 jeep liberty. Recently I had to replace the left rear tail light due someone hitting it. After I replaced the external light, I started to have lighting issues. Initially my front left turn signal light would come on when I hit the brakes. I pulled the left rear light to make sure something did not disconnect. After that, it did not turn on when I hit the brakes. Now when I turn the lights on, the left turn signal light in the front and the rear brake light do not turn on. The turn signal will work when I turn the blinker to the left and the brake light will work when I hit the brakes. I am not sure if it is a fuse or there is something else going on.

Did the new lens come with new sockets? If not damage may have occured there that you cant see. only other possibilty is wiring damage in the rear that may be hard to see. The condition you describe is simple "backfeeding" if you look hard enough youll either find bad sockets or damaged wires close to the lens that took the hit. Hope this helped. Thanks

Turn signal tail lights and BRAKE LIGHTS NOT WORKING

It can be faulty brake light switch causing the problem or its blown brake light bulb. First check and confirm brake light lamp is working and that's not the case.

For turn signal not working it can be faulty turn signal switch or its issue with wiring:----

The rear light assemblies need to be removed and the replaced. The filaments have either melted together or the wrong ones installed at some point. Let me know if you need anything else.

Rear lights, brake lights and turn signals do not

I would check if they also run off of a relay, You could have a wire that is either broke or it is grounding out somewhere.

Neither turn signals work on jeep liberty 2006 sport

Signals are now controlled by a module on the right side of the steering column under the dash. Before doing anything yourself, bring it to the attention of the guys that did the rear...This problem can happen at any time but they may have disconnected a harness or ground while working, so give them a chance first to correct it.

No tail lights or brake lights

Check the relays associated with the tail lights, I believe that the tail light relay and the turn signal relay are two different entities. Hopefully that helps.
