I have sony dsc-t300 camera. now when i power it on it starts to vibrate. the the diplayed picture on LCD vibrates too and of course the photos i take are not clear.

it's actually a failure with the lens mechanism, I just experienced the same situation....Sony has another T20 that they had the same situation with and they offered to fix the cameras until July 2011..currently checking if Sony will fix this defect in this T70

On Sony T100 and similar,
its the vibration canceling unit, i had the same problem.
if you have good hads you can fix it.( on your oun risk)
1) disasamble the camera, you will see black plastic box inside, this is he lens unit.
2) on the botom you see 2 scrwes, they are holding the CCD remove them and the ccd unit will come from the lens assembly
3) the next is the stabilizer unit it is the problematic one. it is located on the left side of the lens asebly and is held by 2 screws.
you can test it by puling out the cable connected to it (the conector is just under the lens) and verifign that the problem is solved. ( you can leave it this way it will shoot fine just without the anti shake)
4) to fix it take it out ,remove the plastic cover, you see the lens on a plastic mount it should be glued to the magnet under it. the problem is that the glue fals apart.
remove one of the pins on wich it slides, and take the lens and the magnet out.
5) reglue the magnet and reasemble the camera.
6) power up and test, for me that solved the problem

i HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH THE VIBRATING AND HAVE HAD THE CAMERA FOR 8 MONTHS.
Me too, same problem... for a camera that was at the high end of compact cameras, I think this is rather unbelievable for such a reputated mark... My trust in Sony is dissolving like an aspirin in water!

I have the same problem the camera is vibrating and making blur photos. Once this starts it takes several hours to have the camera returning to the normal. It starts suddenly and unexpected and is really anoying.
just simple dis assemble the ssu.(steady shot unit ) cut the 2 strand of magnitic wires .and your problem wil be solved. how ever in the main screen error will pop up but the camera is working fine ..never mind the blingking error ..the important is u can use your camera
