Sounds like canada or USA car, is it?
i just restored one, know it like back of hand.
no inertial switch, of any kind, no upside down car switch. like my mazda either. and that cuts fuel not spark.'

want to trouble shoot it or guess and go broke?
no spark, clear as day, and the ECU cuts fuel with no spark.
so forget fuel. totally.
ready to fix spark?
and you said no spark but failed to say,
at the coil or all 5 places. big deal that....

the ECU will talk to you, and tell you why, 1/2 the time.
is your tachometer dead, cranking> 4x4 have tach.
and will move to 0.3K rpm that is 3/10s of below 1 mark.
the 1 means 1000, so 3ths is 300 rpm. cranking. does it?
if not the ECU will throw,,no spark codes, 2nd clue.
what to learn?
http://www.fixkick.com/IGN_timing/no-spark.html

first check for spark that the ignition coil. center tower.
how:
in 1991,in the USA the spark creation changed, radically
the ECU generates park, in this way.
CMP in dizzy makes cam signal (there is no crank trigger in 91)
the CMP makes perfect square way
the ECU sees that. and triggers the ignitor
the ignitor charges the coil, and spark happens at the coil tower.
does yours?

if the eCU sees a missing CMP signal you get code 41.
if the ecu sees missing spark read back, code 42
you must crank for 5 seconds release the key to see codes of this type.,class.
do you know how to use the diagnostic jumper paper clip yet.

SOURCE: my 94 geo prizm sputters and jerks during

for that cost you could have taken it to a mechanic and had the compretion tested, that is what needs to be done. at least 90psi and all cyliders sould be within 15% to that.

1990 geo metro, 5 speed wont start. Gas pump running to radiator but no spark and will not fire. Why?

Hi. There are several issues that will disable ignition spark. For Example: Blown fuse, damaged wires, defective cap or rotor, pick up coil, distributor, timing or ignition control module. Please let me know if you need anything else. Good Luck.

Have 99 suburban 5.7. Just had fuel pump, filter, distributor, cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires, control module and coil replaced a little over a year ago. Drove great until it just shut off recently...

You might check for a fuel shut off valve. Some vehicles have them in case of an accident, it turns off the fuel pump. Some are just a relay that can be reset.

1991 geo tracker wont start. replaced ECU, Fuel Relay, Main Relay, Distributor, Cap And Rotor, Plugs, Wires, Igniter, Coil, Still No Spark And No Fuel

wow, you guessed that many times? you must be broke.
want to diagnose it, then post here.
91 is easy car to fix. sure it.
i have 100% docs. and tools. and are here too.
cranks but no start
http://www.fixkick.com/nostart.html
see test 4, a key test.

a: do you have spark at the coil?, not the spark plugs the COIL.??
b: yes, then dizzy is timed wrong or cam timed wrong.
if cam timed wrong, both will be., wrong.
the cam that spins will never kill spark.
the funny folks down 12,000, SouthWest, make rotors that are junk (if you get my drift, we call these C4 parts.)
and can be inserted 3 ways, not BOSCH. only 1 way works.
That is why you check spark at the coil, so you dont get lost.

c: the ECU cuts fuel when spark is dead, so fiddling fuel
is a total waste of time and cash.
d: the ECU tells you , if ether key signals are bad.
why not check for code (DTC) 41, and 42 happen. cranking for 5 long seconds.

97 Tracker 4 door auto trans.

you must RUN the scanner/computer for easy diagnostic and fix it .
Remember the electronic from vehicle NOW is very complicated.
You can have PCM or BCM faulty, or ignition COIL, or spark plug or sensor, faulty. etc
see the diagram attached.

My 96 acura integra won't start but turn over

Get some engine starter spray. Follow instructions on spraying into intake. This will serve as a fuel source to test spark/ignition. You will want help cranking the car while you spray. If car stumbles and tries to run, you have a fuel problem. If after trying for a few minutes there is no change, then I would bet you don't have spark. Of course you could go further and say there could be a timing issue, no compression, etc. But I would start with the easy stuff first.
When was the last time you did a tune-up? Are the plugs in good shape?

I have 1991 mpv v6 3.0 engine. It will not start. I changed the ignition coil and the igniter coil. what else could cause no spark?

Several things, actually. There could be no battery power at the distributor due to a blown fuse or a bad main relay. You could have a bad distributor cap, bad rotor, bad ignition cable between the coil and the distributor cap, a bad Engine Control Unit, a bad distributor pick-up coil, or any of the wiring in-between. (see schematic)

Truck wont crank. we have put new distributor cap, rotor button, coil pack, plugs, wires, and fuel pump. we also checked our firing order.

you said you repl dist cap that means you don't have a crank sensor you have electronic ing module. remove your elec ing module have it tested most auto parts stores could test your module, or check your coil at the neg terminal. should have power. if not you lost your primary volt from your batt.your secondary power is coming from your electronic ing module from the module to the pos terminal on the coil, when the eng cranks, from the coil to the dist cap , from the dist cap center to the rotor then out to the plugs, this all happen pervided the timing belt or timing chain is ok. the cumbustion chainber needs 3 things , thats fuel, air, and spark.

95 geo metro 3cyl. 1.0L no spark changed

Pull one or two sparkplugs and check them for moisture; not fuel, but for water beads.
I don't know how long your engine ran after losing coolant but there is a chance that you lost the head gasket and have gotten water into the cylinders.

Won't start, fuel pump runs at key on, spark at coil wire into distributor is yellow, little or no spark at plug wire ends

Sounds like bad distributor cap or rotor. If ones bad, might as well change both. Take off the cap and if there is a black color on the ends of the prongs, or on the end of the rotor, time to replace. Is it getting fuel into motor?
