With your webcam plugged in get to the Device Manager. Make sure your View is set to ?Devices by type? this may vary according to your operating system. Locate any device with a YELLOW exclamation point or question mark next to it. Right click and choose Update Driver. At the next prompt click "No, not this time". At the next prompt click on "Install from a list or specific location". Finally with your installation CD in the CD ROM drive at the next prompt click on "Search removable media" and click Next. Once the driver is installed you can try to use the webcam again.

Hi, VfW (Video for Windows)mis old (and not being developed any more) and because of its limitations,Microsoft has come up with a new device driver model: WDM (supported nativelystarting from Windows 2000). Most video capture drivers are now being developed using WDM.
I think if you get the latest DirectX drivers it'll work better.
