CD-RW880 records only 10-15 minutes then stops

Lately, my Teac CD-RW880 stops recording after 10-15 minutes into the session. I didn't realize this until after listening to a recorded CD. I wasn't watching it while recording (a hypnosis session). My client called to let me know that the CD stops playing 10-15 minutes into the session. I tried again and it got the same problem. I can't fast forward beyond a certain point. I can't skip into the new area. It just stops recording. HELP!

I'm afraid you may be right. I've been using this recorder for a few months, having made roughly 30 recordings onto the same media (I haven't gone through my pack of 50 disks, yet).

I can't find another possible reason.

Berkhyp, did you ever figure out a solution to this issue? I am having the same issue with our Teac CD-RW880. Did you bring it in to get it fixed. I'm wondering if it is even worth fixing?

Sounds like either the grease on the laser rails has soldified making it difficult for the laser to push part it(easy fix)or some teeth have stripped off the gearing that moves the laser ( not so easy) - first thing to try is take the casing off,and use a q-tip or similar to run down the laser rails with the tray out of the unit.

Hi i would say try other cd recordable media but it sounds like your player has a tracking/laser pick-up problem or a laser mechanism fault,i would suggest you take it to the nearest repair agent to get them to look at it for you. regards. paul.

How can I connect my CD-RW880 recorder to the

Make sure the phonograph is connected to the Phono Connectors. Hook up your CD recorder to the tape. The play connectors on the CD recorders can connect to the tape play connectors on your stereo. The record connectors on your CD recorder connect to the record outputs on the tape connectors on your stereo. You can also connect you CD recorder to the VCR connectors if you are using an audio tape as your source. All of the outputs and inputs are the same level except the phono.
