Kenmore washing machine not running through cycles.

Our washer is a Kenmore 80's series machine. It will fill up, but won't agitate or spin. I've had to drain the water with a shop vac.
The knob actually goes through the cycles. Is this a belt or water pump?

The Timer is the most common problem. There is no belt, it is direct drive. Call appliance repair store in your area for replacment timer, or call Sears, they will mail it to you

your motor turns one way for the spin cycle and the other way for agitate. remove the coupler and test it that way.
