Question about Samsung SCH-i730 Pocket PC

Touch screen suddenly stopped responding!

I restarted my i730 because it wasn't seeing its NIC, and well.. now the touchscreen is not responsive at all! I just got this phone a week ago, used but in perfect condition and the screen has worked flawlessly thus far. I have done a reset, leave the battery out for 5 mins, and a pwr / reset button hard reset.. If it was more than I restarted my phone, I would think it would be the phone itself..

Re: Touch screen suddenly stopped responding!

Make sure your device is not locked. Lock button is the "Slide Switch" lower left side of device. If locked, will show a lock in upper right part of screen. Will unlock when you pull down the keyboard. This is also a very good feature to prevent accidentally dialing when getting in/out of your car etc...To unlock, slide switch to middle position.

My MC70 work symbol wont respond to my touch screen pen

Does it respond to keyboard entry? If not, check to see if the "lock" icon on the screen is in the locked position. It's real easy to accidentially lock the device. If it is, just click on the lock and confirm that you want to unlock.

The next few can be a problem if the screen is not responding, so you'll need to figure out the keyboard equivalent:

You may also want to check the system settings. I believe there is a setting that will enable you to "turn off" the touch screen function.

Finally, try a touchscreen alignment in the system settings.

Jasjam touchscreen not responding

Touch scre4ens are actually two screens, the visual surface and the touch surface. On can be damaged and the other function normally. Unless it is a driver issue, I'd say the touch screen is probably dead.

Touch sensitive screen not working

I found a solution for the LG KU990 Viewty touchscreen not responding problem. After thinking about twisting my phone, I came up with another solution which actually works every time. The touchscreen works via layers of plastic that when contact is made, a signal is triggered from the coordinates of the contact. However, when the phone has pressure, these layers of plastic stick together somehow. So, to fix it.... Get a small strip of adhesive tape that will not leave a sticky residue on your screen. Apply that tape in several spots on the surface of the screen, and lift it away from the phone with light pressure. Repeat this in several areas of the screen. That's it. You're done. Your screen should function properly. Simply recalibrate the touchscreen at this point in your settings menu. I hope it helps everyone with any type of touchscreen. I know it helped me. The touchscreen phones are totally useless using only the hard keys!

Did you find a solution to this problem? I have just bought an I-Mate PDA2 and within 4 days the touch screen has stopped responding, but like your, the scroll wheel and buttons still work. I have tried the full reset and now I am left stuck on the initial set up screen. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Touchscreen no longer works

Well watch this video and after you follow the directions get the screen and find the glass like cover and remove it from the screen bend it in a very lightly way, then put it back on and put the PDA back together and BAM.

Touch screen

You may have dust accumulation around the edges of your touchscreen, between the screen and the case. Try using a can of compressed air. Gently press down on the edges of the touchscreen to expose the gap between the screen and the case, and shoot the air in there. This worked for me when my Treo 600 touchscreen stopped responding.

Touchscreen doesnt respond

Hi Your touch screen is part of your LCD and it was connected together thru a small thin cable and it is fragile. When this cable is bad or lost contact , your touch screen is disabled. Only way is to open the case and replace. The method to replace it was tricky. If you make a mistake, you can damage your LCD or scratch it. Please visit these sites for some information: 1) 2) (Store sell Touch Screen) 3) I hope these information will help you to find the solution for your MDA. Actually, I am repaired all phones and PDA too. If yo need for my help, you can email me at I am writing a lot instruction of how to repair or replace the housing and LCD/touchscreen or can be called digitizer. Good Luck. Regards, Joseph

I-mate jam screen

First of all you need to make a "Hard" restart (thats usually cleans up also the memory so perheps you'd better back it up)You can make it by taking out the battery and there I think you should have the restart button, then go into the menu and try to re-configure your screen touch, Hope that'll help
