I tried to change my password and i closed the page before it finished and when i tried to connect to the internet it wont work help

If Thunderbird it trying to connect to a different e-mail account you can get this message. Verify the account name/password you are using to connect and make sure the account is valid (not closed/disabled) and that the password is not changed or compromised.

If this is the case, the setup wizard detected an IP conflict between the router and the modem. It means that the modems IP address is in the same range as you router so it has to be changed. If the IP address of your router was changed to 10.0.0.1 , you should be able to connect to the internet. Try accessing the routers setup page by opening a browser and type 10.0.0.1 at the address bar. It will ask you for a username or password. Type admin for the username and password for password (this is the default settings). If it does not work try to remember if you already have changed the username or password. Once you are in, enable the mac clone option. Check if it works.

you have a poor internet connection this happens from time to time nothing to worry about. close out the browser let the computer stand for a minute so it can finish running any programs then try it again it should work

make sure you put the correct password in, re do the connection and retype the password, thats what it sounds like

No install CD needed with valid working internet with modem. First you need to turn off your computer then connect the working hsi modem to the Netgear router with the ethernet cord (looks like a thicker telephone wire) connect the ethernet cord from the back of the modem to the first single port on the Netgear not the ports labeled 1-4. Then with another ethernet cable snap one end into one of the 4 ports available and the other end snap into your computers ethernet port. Then unplug the MODEMs power cord for 30sec plug it back in wait for modem to boot back up with all of its lights and turn the computer back on. After install is finished you can now go and download your routers firmware from Netgear. In your address bar where it reads http://.........go ahead and highlight this and backspace it all until it clears to blank. Type in 192.168.1.1 and then hit enter. A window will pop up asking for username and password. For username type in "admin" for password type in "password" this is default and will always work unless someone has changed the username and password already on your home network, in which case contact netgear support. But if it does work the you will get Negear Smart Wizard. Here is where you can click on "Setup Wizard" and follow the prompts to download latest firmware and then Finished. Close down the netgear page and happy wireless internet surfing.

you just need a modem and phone line access,
plug modem into phone socket and then into the computer,

My example modem is.........

Speed Touch 5x6v6 - Broadband Modem

log on to the modem using Internet Explorer Bar
Type 192.168.254
this will open the modems log on menu
then enter user name and password
its factory default is
user ADMIN
password ADMIN or 1234

once open there are some menu options on the main page

Speed Touch,
Broadband Connection,
Toolbox,
Home Network,

to add new user and password,
go to toolbox,
user management,
add new user
add password,(write down username and password)
change default user
save and test
should have a green tick next to new default user now

selecting broadband ... shows both your,
dsl connection and internet connection status,
with a green tick next to each heading.

Home network will show you...
all devices connected to this modems network ie
the other computers and printers etc,
connected on your network.
In network ,select your computer in the menu tree,
select configure
this give you a menu to add info about your computer
ie name info, comupters ip address,
access to the local intranet or the internet

Now lets connect to the internet

select Broadband from fornt page
menu will open and display
DSL & Internet Connections
here we test functionality.on? or off?

Now we go to your computer,
start my network connection
run wizard in my network places
select new connection
follow prompts to the end.

open internet explorer
if web page opens then we are done and finished,
open tools and internet options,
connections and then lan settings
select automatically detect
Apply then close
Test webpage again,
when ok shut down and restart,
to save the computers new settings ,
Test again with internet explorrer.

if no connections run wizard again,

you can try resetting the linksys router once by pressing and holding the reset button using a toothpick for 30seconds when the power is turned on...then open the linksys router setup page by typing 192.168.1.1 in internet explorer...go ahead and change the connection type as "dynamic"(if you donot use any username,password for going online) or change the connection type as "pppoe" and enter the username and password over there in the fields provided...it ll fix your problem for sure....

Different providers have diffrerent ways (and devices) to connect to the internet. Some don't need any input from you, just plug the lan cable and it's on. Others need you to configure a router or setup an account. Others need that you install a program on your pc, configure that and then manually connnect to the internet.
Without more details all i can say is to look at what's written in your contract, read all the manuals for all the equipement they gave to you and if you still don't know whatr to do, post again with all the necessary details.

Well you see, the way that the telus internet connection works is by using something called a MAC address for access to the internet. That page that you are getting is the login page for your internet configuration, you need to login to that page with your telus ID it should start with something like A5A and password. Then click on "Manual Registration and Administration of PC's and Devices" if both fields are filled in delete one of them. On the bottom of your router there is a sticker with your serial number, right below that it should say "MAC ID:" enter what follow that into the field on the telus site. and you should not have any more problems after that.
