Mostly black lcd screen (can see slight picture/image) when turned on, flash works, pictures are taken and stored, but cannot view in viewing picture mode. No other screen shows. Memory chip stores all pics taken, and can be shown on computer or such.

The LCD viewer is made up of the LCD screen, and the backlight. Your backlight is burnt out, or the circuit board isn't sending power to it. Backlights can be replaced separately.

This may sound crazy but it actually just worked for me!!! I left my camera in my lunch cooler one day and when i took it out it in the hot sunlight it fogged up and the screen was VERY dark. I did not mess with if for a few days hoping it would dry out. That did not work then i had the crazy idea of blowing it with a hair dryer . . . .it ACTUALLY worked! I couldnt believe it, i was about to go out and just buy a new camera and then that worked YAHHHH! Hope this helps someone else!

if you can, I would press MENU Then click Set Up then click monitor settings, select brightness, and select high light if that doesn't work, im terribly sorry.

Fuji S7000 has slight purple edge in one corner of LCD, otherwise is black. Camera seems fine otherwise, but cannot see what I"m planning to shoot either on LCD or in viewfinder. Camera lights up fine, setup and menu screens are fine, just no view of potential shots. Weird...

When I take photos using the flash (some not all) turn out black for a couple of pics and then the next few will be normal again. I have tried different settings, Auto, Manual nothing seems to work and you never know when the pics are going to come out black. Does anyone know what the problem might be.
A few months ago the on board flash stoped working so Im using a mount flash, I dont know if that has anything to do with this.

I have the same problem with a camera I recently purchased (2nd hand for my daughter). The screen is so dark it's impossible to make out any image, but the setup screens are fine. If it's the back light can these be readily purchased and fitted ?

My Nikon D50 pics are dark only when my mounted flash is on(952AF/NIK). The flash goes off, but the pics are realy dark. When I use the built in flash this does not happen. I've used my mounted flash plenty of times already & this never happend. any suggestions?

Our camera is starting do do this now too. You can make out a very faint image, if there's enough light. It's like shooting blind. You hope you get the subject in the shot. Once the flash goes off, you can see the image you took for a few seconds but not while setting it up. Someone mentioned the backlight and circuitboard... how are these fixed? Are they replaceable at home or is this a repair situation? And would any repair shop do or do we have to send back to Fuji?

Thanks!!
