D-link DI-624 wireless router connectivity problems (DNS suffix)

I just recently moved into my house at college and got time warner high speed internet/cable. I have had a D-link DI-624 wireless router that worked all last year but now is not able to give a DNS suffix to any computer that is hooked up to it. When the cable modem is directly hooked up to my computer the internet works fine. but when i try to route the signal through my router i get a valid ip address but no dns suffix. i reconfigured my router as well as restarted both the cable modem and router so many times I am sick. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Might I suggest that you reset the router to its default configuration by pressing and holding the reset button until it reboots. This way you will be dealing with the default configuration. Then try to use it. Remember the default login ID is admin and the password is Password or admin. Lets hope this helps

Hi. I have a DI-624 wireless router, using it for one desktop and two laptops. It used to work very well as a wireless router. But recently I shifted its physical location, after which the signal falls out...

Any chance there is another router with the same SSID nearby?

Perhaps when your router is dropping off the workstation is finding a different router with the same SSID.

After replacing Cable Modem, D-Link DI-524 Wireless will not work

Did you call Comcast and give them the new MAC address of the Motorola SB5101 SURFboard cable modem? I'm surpised it works at all without doing this first. This is the hardware address of your modem so the world can see you, no one in the world has the same MAC address, they are all different. It's on a sticker on the modem.

Stop neigbour from using my network. Speed has become slow

Password protect your connection, if you are using Internet sharing option, limit the number of connections to 2 (one for you and the other for your neighbor no. 1)

Can I piggyback a wireless router onto a hard-wired router?

Yes, you can connect the DI-624 to your exitsing EBR-2310, you just need to connect the a cable from port 4 of the EBR-2310 to the internet/wan port of the DI-624, then after that you can already use now the wireless to your laptop and also the wired router to your desktops.
But I may suggest you to just replace the EBR-2310 with the DI-624 so you will only be using 1 router that can cater your laptop and also your desktop, Just connect the cable from your modem that is conencted now to your EBR-2310 to the internet/wan port of the DI-624 then run the setup CD that should be it.

Hope that helps...........

DI-624 problem with wireless network

Buy the N router! That is the only solution. My signal weakened and went from the whole home to less than two feet if that at times. I bought the N router and it worked just like the G one did when I first bought it. Ya think somebodies got the limited life span worked out?

do a hard reset on your router, and try again. After the hard reset plug your modem into the router but disconnect the power and reconnect the power after 10seconds. Other than that, Dlink tech support should be able to help you solve the problem.
