Yeah that is a software download, if it does not progress it may have an issue, those receivers are being discontinued, call dishnetwork and they will provide you with a replacement leased receiver and a new dish install to receive all current hd programming

My dish 811 receiver won't download guide info. Do I need to reset and how?

Pull the smart card out of the unit and turn the unit off. then turn it back on and replace the card. this should reset the unit. It will take a minut or so for the unit to read the card and aquire a sat signal. If this does not work, simply call Dish network and they can walk you through any other options.

Cant get my check swith to show satellite

Hello, this is Matthew Gonzales with DISH Network customer service. If you are not getting satellite signal, the problem can several different things, but here are a few things you can try. First, try a hard reset. To do a hard reset, you unplug the receiver from its power outlet, wait 15 seconds then plug it back in. The next step would be double checking you satellite cable. On the back of the receiver there should be a cable connected where it says "Satellite in", make sure this cable is secured from the receiver to the wall. After you do these steps, try running a check switch test (menu-6-1-1-check switch-test). If you are still not receiving satellite signal, a technician will be needed at the home to fix the issue. If this has not been resolved, please feel free to email me at

The dvr function doesn't seem to be working. I

More than likely, the internal hard drive has failed. I have had this happen to me. I would first do a hard reset, that is unplugging the unit and leaving it unplugged for at least 20 sec. Plug the unit back in, and let it power up. This will take a few minutes to locate the satellites and download the guide. If you still cannot use the DVR after a hard reset, most likely the hard drive is a goner. You can still use the reciever to watch T.V., but you will not be able to record. There is no point in trying to replace the drive because it would cost you more than you would spend to replace it.

Dish 625 shuts off without warning and fan runs high

Unfotunately this is an event known as power cycling and the only resolution is another receiver. This issue is due to faulty internal components and has nothing to do with anything other than that fact. If you have further questions feel free to contact me. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

[2] 811 dishnet receiver

you need to program one remote with a different code, power off or unplug one of the receivers. Go to the other receiver and hit the system info button at the receiver. Now read the remote code at the bottom of screen would be a number between 1 to 15. Program the remote for a different code than what it shows. Push and hold down the sat button on the remote and leave go light will blink, enter code say 14 and the pound key. You will see the light blink 3 times on the remote. Now that code is entered in the remote now with that system info screen up on the tv watch at bottom where code is and hit the record key on remote and you will see it change to 14. All done . now just plug back in your other receiver.
