My machine will not fill when the cold water is selected, but will fill when the hot is selected. It will not fill either with the warm selected. This all occurs just on the inital wash fill cycle. All the rinses does just fine.

Re: mav6000awq water fill problem
Check first the filters on the cold inlet water line (both sides).
Then, if problem still exist - check that the cold inlet water valve works(it is an electromagnet valve, located at the pipe's entrance to the machine)).
If it doesn't work, test that it get power. In case it get power and doesn't work - You can easily open the valve and clean it (from scale or other dirt). Be aware you should disconnect the power cable from machine before doing it !!!!
Check as well for valve's coil resistance. In case you have no resistance measurement - you should replace it for a new one.

Make sure both hot and cold water supplies are turned on. Select a cold wash cycle and start the wash cycle, do you get cold water? Now select a hot wash cycle and start the wash cycle, do you get hot water? If you only get cold water replace the hot water fill valve. If you only get hot water replace the cold water fill valve. If you get neither replace both fill valves.
Hi just read your posting. Now what temp of water are you selecting for the wash cycle,is it warm, cold, or hot.Try this,Select hot fill then select cold fill and please reply on whether the squeal stops on either hot or cold fill.Looking forward to your reply.
Or you could have only the cold water hose hooked up and selecting hot wash only. Or you have the hot hose hooked up only and selecting cold wash only. Try selecting a warm wash and see if you get cold or hot water only. If you do, you'll know which is missing.
Q- My washer will not fill with cold water A- More often than not, this is a bad fill valve. Please see thefilling section. There's no cold water
Some washing machines allow cold water to enter only during certain cycles. Others intermittently allow hot and cold to enter, to temper the temperature of the water. Consult your owner's manual if you are unsure about whether the machine is acting abnormally.
If you're sure the machine is not working the way it used to--or should--check the following.
Is the cold water turned on? If not, turn it on.
Is the washer getting hot water but no cold water? If so, check to see if the control panel settings are correct.
Is there cold water coming through the proper hose? If not, check to see if the screen inside the water-inlet valve is clean. (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If it's clean, you probably have a defective water-inlet valve. If so, you need to replace the valve.
YOU NEED TO CHECK THE WATER TEMPERATURE AFTER THE TUB IS FILLED WITH WATER WHEN COLD IS SELECTED. NEW MACHINES WILL USE BOTH THE HOT AND COLD WATER VALVES TO FILL THE MACHINE. THEY DO NOT WANT YOU WASHING WITH STRICTLY COLD WATER AS THE DETERGENT WILL NOT PROPERLY DISOLVE. COLD WASH TEMP SHOULD AVERAGE 65-70 DEGREES.
