Question about Canon PowerShot A60 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Missing Pictures I took a bunch of pictures with my Power shot A60 i went to review them and they are gone. it is strange because whenever i take pictures i look at them right after and make sure they worked... i took proably about 100 pictures and only 20 of them were on the camera. is there anyway that the memory in the actual camera filled up then switched to the memory card and some how deleted all the pictures when it switched to the memory card? It just doesnt make sense and if that is what happened how to i switch the storage back to camera i have tried everything

Re: Missing Pictures

Whatdoes the maual say about the cpacity of the internal memory and what happens when it is full? There is probably a more comprehensive manual on the CD by the way. Come back with the answer and I take it further.

I took a bunch of pictures and went to put them on my computer, when I inserted the memory stick into the computer it only showed half the pictures on the memory stick, so I put it back in my IR 500 and...

Removing the memory stick without using the "safely remove hardware" function is probably the cause cause of your problem. The pics are still there but you need a 3rd party machine to read them. Go to a Walmart and plug the card into one of their picture making machines. You can print the pics or even make a CD of them. Once you have them safely in your possession, format the card in the camera and in the future, don't forget to use the "safely remove hardware" function on your computer.

Internal Memory is full??

If you dont put a memory card in your camera it is forced to record on and read from the internal memory (which is pretty small). If you do insert a memory card (is it a memory stick?) you can read the card but not the internal memory. Try it both with and without the memory stick.

Did you transfer them to a computer? Sometimes that will automatically delete them. Did you go into the menu and accidentally erase them? It's hard to say what happened without knowing exactly what all was going on. It's usually not real easy to just erase pictures.

Digital Camera Malfunction

mine just started doing the same thing a few weeks ago. I had downloaded pixes to the computer, went outside to take picture and it started acting up. strange lines appear on the screen, but the codes are all there, and you can view the pictures that are on the card. no, the card is not full, the batteries are fine. I think it has a virus built in to start trouble so we will go buy a new one!
