TV shuts itself off and the red light on the power button blinks

If I unplug the unit and wait about 20 seconds and then plug it in again, the tv turns inself back on....this can happen 3 or 4 times in the first few minutes of operation daily. When this first happened, the color also went haywire and I cannot adjust the color at all any longer -- the picture is green tone top-heavy and the color adjustment does not work. This has been going on for about 6 months. Can it be fixed????
