Should my upright freezer sides be hot to the touch

Based off the information you have provided me with it sounds like a possible issue with your sealed system or the sides may need to be further ventilated. Typically with a freezers you need to assure there is a at least two inch space between the sides and top to provide proper ventilation. It is normal to be warm to the touch; however, since it may feel hot to you, I would suggest verifying that you have the proper clearances around the freezer. You can refer to your owner's guide for those specifications. If you do not have an owner's guide, you can download one at the manufacturer site.


If the clearance is fine, you may need to clean the condenser coils. As part of routine maintenance, you can remove the toe grille (located at the foot of your refrigerator) by unsnapping the sides and lifting outward towards you. Now, using an extended vacuum attachment and condenser cleaning brush, remove dust buildup from condenser coils on left side underneath freezer. Cleaning condenser coils typically resolves this issue.


But, if clearance is fine and the condenser coils are free from dust and you are still feeling too much exterior heat, you may need to check with a local service tech to determine what else could be causing this issue.

the coil normally on b ack of fridges is on sides of freezers under skin it is normal to be warm. The hotter the weather the hotter the skin.

i think its low gas problem so kindly contect to your sevice technician for refill refrigerent gas and also change freezer,s door seal ,

Yes, that is normal. It is ideal to not be in a hot room but as it reaches temperature and begins to cycle off and on it will become somewhat cooler.

freezer is working overtime . these symptoms generally indicate excessive outside air coming into freezer. make sure doorgasket is completely sealed all the way around door.

inspect the unit for a fan near the compressor not to be alarmed some do not have a fan if so insure that it is running while the compressor is running also some defrost problems will cause this the unit runs for a long time heating the compressor and by way passing the heat along
