The inverter card provides power for the LCD panels backlight. In most cases of a dim screen the inverter is the problem. It is a separate unit that can be replaced and is much less expensive than to replace an LCD panel. If a new inverter does not take care of the dim lighting then you're looking at having to replace the LCD panel. If you have any questions let me know.

HP L1910 turns off

Your LCD backlight is faulty. First check if your LCD inverter are properly connected. If so, replace the inverter with another HP L1910 LCD inverter. If you do not know how to do it yourself, ask at your nearest Monitor repair shop and ask them to replace the inverter on your monitor. If that doesn't work as well, your screen itself could be faulty.

Tv flickers off and on

Hi,
You have to check the back light inverter of your lcd tv. In all lcd tvs there are back lights to illuminate the pixels. There are two types of back lighting in use . CCFL ( cold cathode fluorescent lamp) and LED (light emitting diode). In you your tv it will be CCFL. If it is CCFL then it need an inverter (voltage step up circuit) for getting its working voltages. Normally it will produce above 1000V in low current. In the inverter circuit there will be inverter transformers. If the winding of the transformer get shorted then the inverter will drain a high current from the power supply. If so then the current sensing circuit senses the same and it will shut down the power supply. That's why it do the cycle ON an OFF repeatedly.
Just check the inverter board. Normally there will be three circuit boards in LCD TV. Mother board, SMPS (switch mode power supply) and inverter board. In some tvs the SMPS and inverter bord will com-pained as one board. you have to check the inverter transformers. there will be 4 or 6 inverter transformers. if available replace the inverter board as a whole.
Also check the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply. if any of the capacitor seems like one that in the picture, then replace the same and then only go for the inverter board

My hp laptop turns on bt the screen will not come on how can i fix it

Hello,

As per your description, there are two possible causes. Either the LCD is out of order and needs to be replaced, or that the inverter is defective.

The inverter is a electrical device which 'lits' the LCD. Without the inverter and the bulbs it powers, the screen would be too faint to be seen.

To test if the inverter is defective, just turn on your laptop in a dark space, then put a flashlight on the screen to see if you have a fainted display. If you can see something, it is the inverter which is defective and should be replaced.

If you are handy, you can also remove the screen cover to see if there is a neon like light which lits up behind the LCD. If you can see the light, it means that the inverter is just working fine and that the is with the LCD itself.

Replacing the inverter:

1. After removing the screen 'cover', locate a small circuit board (usually below the LCD). Unplug the electrical cables and replace.

In case the inverter is working correctly, try to check the LCD cables. If all cables are well connected, your LCD has to be replaced.

Hope this posts helps you.

SCREEN FOR MY NOTEBOOK IS NOT WORKING BUT THE PROCESSOR IS RUNNING

Look at the LCD screen very closely and check if you can see a faint image on the screen. It's possible that the LCD lid close switch stuck in the "closed" position and the back-light stays off even when you open the LCD screen or turn on the laptop. The switch turns off the back-light when you close the LCD display to save the laptop battery power.

If that didn't fix it then there are 3 things that could have gone wrong:

1. Video cable connection from inverter to LCD got loose. To check this, follow instructions from step 3 on how to open the LCD and check if cable is fitted properly.

2. The video inverter is faulty
The screen inverter failure is very similar to the back-light lamp failure. In both cases the screen gets very dark and the image on the screen becomes very faint, barely visible under a bright light. If it's still under warranty, take it for a replacement. You can replace this otherwise - you can find the inverter under the screen, follow the procedure described at point 3 to open up the screen.

3. The LCD monitor is faulty
If it works on an external monitor most likely the LCD is faulty and needs replacement. If it's still under warranty, take it for a replacement. If not, you can do it yourself, it's pretty easy. Remove the rubber covers on the side of the screen, unscrew the screws take the plastic cover off, disconnect the video inverter and put in the new LCD after you connect the video inverter to it. Usually you can find cheaper replacements on Ebay.

Asus laptop and red shadows on letters and bad picture. is this a lcd inverter problem? External monitor works ok.I check lcd panel cable and replace lcd panel but all same

Yep, it's the inverter. Anytime there is a red or pinkish tint or hue you know it is the inverter. Usually the inverter is very easy to change. I would buy one on eBay for your best price...

Hi, my toahiba satellite m305d s4828 backlight isn't working, i already replaced the lcd inverter but it still didn't work, i dont know what to do anymore

The problem might not be with the LCD inverter. There is a possibility that you have a faulty LCD screen cable. The LCD cable transfers data signal from the motherboard & video card to the LCD screen. It also supplies high voltage DC power to the screen inverter board.
Please check this possibility.

Acer al1716 dont work

When the LCD monitor display flickers and or has a black screen then the fault is usually a faulty inverter or the CCFL lamp. When you look at the screen at a sharp angle and you see a dim image then it is a backlight problem and it is caused by a faulty inverter or a CCFL lamp.
