Question about Canon FAXPHONE L80 Laser
I need to send a fax to a fax machine in Taiwan. The country number is 886. The fax number in Taipei is 2-23937330. I tried sending with the following number entered: 1886223937330. After trying to dial twice, my machine displayed the message, "Number is busy. Try again later." If we are supposed to place pauses in the number, where are they to be placed? And, what button do I press to enter a pause. The only button I see faintly related to "pause," is a space button. Your Basic Guide and User's Guide both say simply to enter pauses in the number. There is no mention of how to do so, or where the pauses are to be placed. Thank you, Stik
Overseas calls must use 011 then the country code 866 then teh city code then the fax number . Do not dial starting with a 1 otherwise you will be calling in North America

Gentlemen,
I also recently developed a problem, and I'm not sure if it's a Canon L80 problem, or a phone problem.
Following a recent, highly charged thunderstorm, delivering lots of lightning to the area, when my fax machine is connected to the phone line and the main land line phone, none of the phones work to call out. I have to disconnect the fax machine for the phones to work.
Lightning did not strike any closer than 1/2 mile from the house where the fax is located.
Can you tell me what might have happened?
Thanks,
Stik
