Question about RCA TruFlat 27F520T 27" TV

1 Answer

Help When I plug in my T.V. the power switch lights up and the set makes the noise like it is coming on. Unfortunatly, as quickly as it turns itself on, it switches itself back off. After it turns off it will repeat the process 3 or 4 times (switching itself off and on). Then the power switches light goes out and the T.V. shuts down. I atempted to push the switch, but it will not turn on. I never get sound or picture because the set turns itself off and on so quickly. It is only two years old and I am pretty disapointed in the quality. Please tell me which part to replace or come up with a solution for me. Thank you for your time and concern,

Re: help

It's probably something wrong inside, so if you don't want to open it you will probably have to send it in for repair. Since it's only two years old, might you still have waranty on it? Try to contact the dealer to find out. If not, I fixed a similar problem on my Sony TV by opening it up, and adjusting the knobs inside. I adjusted *one at the time*, and returned it to its starting position if it didn't seem to have any effect. I finally found one that caused my TV to stay on. If you open it, be very carefull. There are components that can shock you *even if the TV is off and disconnected!* So don't touch any metal with your fingers. While you're in there, clean out any dust to reduce risk of fire later.

This model is renonwed for arcing from the ultar cap to ground.
please check the horizontal transistor and if short replace it, but before you turn it on first discharge the tube and then remove the ultar cap and clean both the tube contact point using wd 4o and also the cap itself. if you do want to prevent it from happening again. use some silicon to block out any future moisture collection below the cap.

if it still doesnt start then that means that the digital plug in module has been damaged.

Yet another hissing/buzzing noise from back of TV

Good day.

Check for the horizontal output transistor, flyback and filter capacitors.
Any of these being shorted can cause the problem.

TV doesn't turn on

When the set is turned on, the computer senses that something is wrong and immediately shuts the set back off. The standby LED will then blink a code, a certain number of blinks, to indicate exactly why the set was shut down. It is possible that your audio output IC is shorted, as this would make a pop or strange noises in the speaker just before the set shuts down, which it does to protect your speakers from burning up. The set should be looked at by a qualified tech familiar with Sony TV's.
