Samsung 52" rear Projection TV Con...

The Tv is about 5 years old and has developed red drooping lines at times with red lettering.. presume this is a red convergence problem, but I am no expert
If the convergence is controlled by a chip (IC) I am experinced enough to change out the chip whether the chip is a push in or soldered on the main board as long as it does not require test equipment following installation. I do not have a schematic but hopefully there might be one inside the back cover. If this is possible where can I buy the IC from !! not being in the trade
Can anyone help, comments. Thank you

- In the end I had to get a TV repair man in !!
cost me $400.00
He replaced both IC's unfortunaly to no avail had to wait another week while he contacted Samsung and waited on some other parts which I think was a resistor kit ( the resistors thru the normal heat generated had lost their values, I think)
He also cleaned the guns and some other adjustments, picture is fine now

Clarification Request

I am unable to align the red convergence on my Samsung HCM4215W rear projection HDTV. The factory "perfect picture" has displayed "no sensor data" since the set was repaired in 2004. The set had worked fine for the past 4 years after that repair and just failed suddenly after we returned from a 2 week vacation.

Replace both STK392-040 convergence IC's with OEM or better
quality = I use Panasonic with great success. They are soldered
in and requires at least PCB removal or perhaps entire chassis.
Please post response if you need more help...................T

Hi.

Depending on how bad the red convergence gone out you may not need any spare parts.
You did not say that you have entered the normal menu & adjusted the convergence.
If you havent adjusted the convergence which you should do a couple of times a year go in to the normal menu go to convergence & set it up.
If it wont set up then you do have a problem & will need new ICs fitted.
