Question about Mitsubishi VS-55707 TV

1 Answer

Power Problems The power to the TV will click on and then click right back off. I never get a picture as this seems to happen within one second. The green light comes on for the timer when the power clicks on but within one second it shuts back down. I have unplugged the harness from the power button to the computer board and reconnected. No such luck. Any other steps?

Re: Power Problems

Try leaving it unplugged overnight. It is possible it needs to discharge. If that doesn't work, I'd say you either have a bad switch, or a bad power supply. Hopefully the switch, because that's much easier to fix. Can you bridge the switch connectors with a wire? If it doesn't come on and stay on when you do that, it's a power supply issue (and not nearly as simple to fix).

TV set will not switch on.either with the remote or with the power button. Intermittent fault.

From my experience, your inverter starter circuit is bad. The "click" then nothing or in some cases a popping sound from the speakers as well, means that one or some of the capacitors on the main power section of the control board are leaking voltage to the point that they no longer have a strong enough charge to "jump" the circuit that starts the picture, and when that happens it turns the set back off. leaving the tv alone for an hour or so will allow it to charge the capacitors back up just enough to jump it once and then the problem comes back. There is no easy fix for this problem and soon it will stop turning on at all. some people have had success when "whacking" the side of the tv seems silly but I've seen it actually work. It's only temporary though and that circuit will fail. If you have a great attachment to this tv, go get it fixed at the repair shop. If not, then just go get a new one. This happens to all types of tv's eventually.

Panasonic CT-36HX42F I turn it on and then, turns off

It seems that the electrical relay's, it getting completed is not able to create the high voltage required for proper display. Hence on switching it on, the power LED will immediately light up but since the circuit is not completed it switches to standby and then off. Get the relays replaced and make sure you connect the main power chord to a 15 Ampere rating wiring usually the line meant for A/c and hot water Geyser(called as high power line)..........sodeep

No picture

as your tube flash for a second & then click right back it means you are getting power for that particular time means there might be some cold solder in power supply. if it is ok then check for horizontal section for cold solder or some print loose.

Hello, You have a high voltage section problem I would not suggest fixing this set on your own. You will need to take this set to the shop. Because there are no user repairable parts inside of the set.

Usually what I find in those sets with that symptom is that the solder joints have cracked on the convergence output IC. When this happens you may see the colors no longer lining up on the screen, and slapping the side might temporarily straighten it out again. After a while the convergence IC will short out inside, which overloads the convergence power supply, possibly shorting a diode and/or burning the resistors. The computer senses that the power supply is not working right and shuts the set back off. When I make a housecall for a set like that I charge $150, but some shops charge up to $400, so ask around.
