My GE side-by-side stopped working all together. I first noticed it when the ice/water dispenser on the freezer door wasn't working. Then noticed all the electronic displays on the inside of the fridge were not working either. The only thing working is the lights inside the fridge and freezer. Nothing else works. Any ideas? Bothe sides are warm and inoperable. Thanks. Sue
You need a volt/ omh meter or call a repairman.. need to start at the control board and check power going out of the board. sounds like a board problem with out more info

There should be a plastice hinge cover on the left top hinge on freezer door. Take it off and press the plug together firmly. Try that and let me know, Sea Breeze
http://www.repairclinic.com/0100_1.asp There's an ice- or water-dispensing problem
The ice and water-dispensing system of your refrigerator is quite complex. Many components work together to provide the ice and water. Aside from a simple problem of a leaky water tube or a jammed ice chute, most other components are not user serviceable. We suggest that you contact a qualified appliance repair technician for such repairs.
Some have said that if you are fridge is still making ice, then your water line may be frozen. So you need to let it thaw out by leaving the freezer door open. Figure out somewhat to try and keep the cold air in by using plastic sheeting or something, until the line thaws. You can't dispense water with the door open, so reach up press the button that makes it think its closed and try to dispense the water..or just shut the door to test it out. I am going to try this when I get home today, because I am having the same problem on my GE model# GSH25JFTA BB.
For now unplug the pin plug at lower freezer door hinge and disable the dispenser control board until we see if the keyboard or the dispenser board is at fault. Sea Breeze
turn the freezer side to zero fridge side will zero also . click for water it should work . just worked for me no water for 1month replaced the filter and everything.
We had the same problem. Our frigerator is 1.5 year old. Everytime we try to dispence water or ice the dispencer clicks and the whole thing turns of. We had a GE repairman come by: the electronic board needs to be replaced: total cost $350. (cost of the board only: $150.
We are considering disconnecting the dispencer by unplugging the board (according to the repain man the ice maker wil still work)or buy a new refrigurator (for sure NO GE!!!!!!)
