I downloaded the driver suggested, spc700nc_37_dwv_eng.exe. Ran it and it uninstalled which seemed like a good start. I restarted my HP Pavilion, to keep the registry clean. Then tried to install with the driver. It reached 60% and gave the error I have read so many other people complain about steupapi.exe failed and will close. I am using Vista Home Premium. Am wondering if you have Vista Ultimate? Maybe there is a difference in the OS api? Also you mentioned running Home Media, and this I do not have. Could this be a conflict with the camera?

Hello, I bought a HP Media Center PC and tried to install my SPC700NC. I received all your error messages and more. I found the driver by accident installed it and have used Skype and Yahoo Messenger all is well and I'm happy. Download a Vista driver (File saved is called spc700nc_37_drw_eng) with this link (copy and paste): http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?slg=ENG&cat=PC_CAMERAS_CA&sct=WEBCAMS_SU&session=20070922170231_67.174.87.194&grp=PC_PRODUCTS_GR&ctn=SPC700NC/37&mid=Link_Software&hlt=Link_Software

I just brought the laptop and everytime i open the camera it says there is a problem and closes without trying to fix it!

Possible that the camera drivers must be reinstalled. ZSo log on to the Dell support site and download the software.
Install the drivers and check. iff there is any other similar one inatalled in the PC then unistall ..
If not there can be errors in the harware. Get help from Dell.

I have Widows vista install on my dell inspiron 1545 laptop having integrated camera but unable to acess / find way how to acess / use this camera

Use the drivers and resources cd to install the device software...
Problem should be solved.

If u r not able to find the camera interface, simply open Program Files, select the device's software(probably including the Philips in the name), and run the executable file. Don't forget to create shortcuts.
Note: The camera interface would also be located in the start menu.

Hi Isisas. You should try downloading and installing the Vista-compatible driver for the 600NC web camera. You can get to it by clicking here. Scroll down to the sixth item on the page to find the driver you need.

Thanks to ser71 who first located this driver.

Builtin webcam not working

Try Re-installing the newer driver's for your laptop make from dell. Sometimes all that's needed is for the camera to be reinstalled and drivers reloaded for the OS to realize it's there.
