Question about Toshiba 24AF41 24" TV
This TV worked very well before. However, it won't turn on today either by remote control or the power button. No pictures, no sound but click, click, click. We connected the TV with a VCR and a DVD player. Usually we switched it to the Video 1 for nothing instead of turn off the TV. Is TV still working in this way? Will this destroy TV? I appreciate any of your helpful comments.
The tic tic sound is a device called safety switch that keeps turningyour TV off because an internal fault, such as a defective component ora wrong voltage is detected.
When is like that we say the tv is in protected mode.
Start unplugging TV power cord for one or two hours (it is called hardreset), this will drain power from tv and seset internal circuit, andsometimes can clear the error message, if the fault was only temporary.
If the problem does not go, then you have to troubleshoot the problem, probably some component inside the tv is faulty and may need to bereplaced. If you want to do it yourself is better to buy the servicemanual.
Here you can buy parts and service manual.
If you need to call for repair you can use the phone number listed on the TV owner manual.
