Knock sensor connector and wire are missing 350 ci., can not locate, how do i find wire in wiring harness? this is a 1987 gmc 1 ton sierra classic truck 3500 with newer 1993 350 ci. engine that was in truck when i purchased, was checking out block and seen that it was not plugged (missing).

The heads are different but the lower end should be just fine.

Should be on the right side of the engine by the starter.Has a 1 wire connector.It does not go into the cooling system so you can just take it out without draining the coolant.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Looks like the wire from the sensor to the module is dark blue.

How do you change a knock sensors on my 2001 gmc 1500hd

Changing knock sensors on 2001 GMC 1500hd
1. Remove the intake manifold.
2. There are 2 sensors located on a plate under the intake manifold. These are the knock sensors.
3. Remove the wiring harness assembly from the knock sensor.
4. Install the new rear bank knock sensor and tighten to 15 lb ft.

Need to change knock sensor(s)

Locate the sensor ont he side wall of the head. Disconnect the wiring harness and then use a wrench to loosen the sensor. Pull the sensor away from the head and discard. Installation is the reverse. Check these diagrams.

Where is located the KNOCK SENSOR in the 1987

The knock sensor is located on the right side (passenger) of the motor near the back, its a one wire connector probably either black or blue the sensor goes directly into the block

1999 GMC Sierra 5.3L knocking sound around Catalytic Conerters? ?

on my gmc i have 2 knock sensors and im not possitive if you have two or not under your intake mani but when i replaced both mine i got the same code of low input so i took the small needle out and wire brushed it clean and also traced and ran a new wire just to be safe and that solved my problem. as for bank 1,2 if it helps any my bank one is located engine side driverside and bank2 is engine side passenger side and 3 and 4 are underneath bed side. but you can see the sensors if you look real close near the headers. hope this helps
