Re: Slow Printing

Hi, The slow printing issue can occure even if the cartridges are out or low in ink try to check the print function by the stand alone unit by printing a self test page Here are the steps to print a self test page: On the front panel of the product, press Menu (or Setup) . Press the Right Arrow until Print Reports displays, and then press Enter, Start, or OK . Press the Right Arrow until Self-Test Report displays, and then press Enter, Start, or OK . If the self test page takes less time to print and if all the color blocks and black block print fine the ink level are fine. if the time for self test is also more try to clean the cartridge contacts and replace the cartridges if needed this will fix the issue. If the printer works fine as stand alone self test and copy try to performe the steps in the below webpage: ========== ========== If the issue is still un fixed try to set the print directly settings in the printer properties Click on start >> control panel >> printer and faxes >> there look for the HP printer icon with the check mark and right click on it and select properties and then click on advance tab and under it select the print directly to printer and click on apply and ok to save the settings. Once done try to print and check with the issue. Hope this will fix the issue. Regards, Barret.

When you print the config page, does it print slow?
If it prints at a reasonable speed, it's not the printer.
Are you using the USB port, the network port or a jet direct card?
One of those could be bad.

This printer starts printing really really slow, and then half way through just fails to print and stops printing. what to do?

I've also been experiencing this problems--for months now. It happens only when printing over the network. Prints fine via the USB connection.

HP Officejet 7210 Is Very Very Slow (10 mins / page printing)

And I have exactly the same problem too that has happened in the last few weeks.

I've tried reinstalling the software/drivers and resetting the printer to factory settings but no joy. An upgrade either windows or HP must have caused this!

Laser jet 2430tn printing slow

Check the way your print Jobs Spool up in your PC. you may have a totally different set up for printing in your new computer that takes two or three extra steps(such as spooling the print job) prior to actually sending it to the printer to be printed. If you have a user manual for your new computer, check the printer set up and see if it is set up to print directly to printer or print to spooling folder then to printer. Also try a different driver if you wish, I know the 2430 can use either PCL5 or PCL6 drivers... I'd start there and see if there is a difference.... the problem isn't your printer obviously its the way your computer is communicating to it. Best of luck to you.

Slow Printing

it may just be a slow printer head, maybe an upgrade is in order. look on the box for page printing speed.
it may also be that you have the resolution set too high for basic printing. try turning this down slightly.

hope this helps.

Extremely slow copying

Cartridges may give a very slow printing if internally damaged, or :
When using colored paper in the all-in-one, printing or copying is slow. This issue is a result of the automatic paper type sensor misreading the colored paper as photo paper. The print out takes longer because the unit is printing in Best mode instead of Normal mode.
  1. Click Start , point to Settings , and then click Control Panel .
  2. Double-click Printers and Faxes .
  3. Right-click the appropriate all-in-one, and then click Printing Preferences .
  4. Click the Paper/Quality tab and under Type is: select Plain Paper . This sets the default paper type setting to Plain Paper.
Hope this helps.
