0. Do you HAVE bluetooth? - there is a bluetooth light over the keyboard (of course probably not lit) - there is a bluetooth identifier on the bottom of the laptop - the FN+5 key brings up a menu of (possibly, wireless) and Bluetooth.
0.1 if NOT then you need to ADD a bluetooth USB adapter
Usage: 1. Use to synchronize a PIM or cell phone or other DATA connection - This should be fine; you need to solve (0) first (that you HAVE the hardware) then the driver, then have it running
2. Use a bluetooth headset to listen to audio. - this you can *NOT* do with the default IBM bluetooth stack - I tried, an "audio adapter" for the bluetooth was simply not supplied by IBM. It would require changing to some non-IBM bluetooth stack, and I chose not to do that so never got a bluetooth headset working with my T41.

I had this T41 for 4 years. The only thing I've changed is an additional 512MB memory which was installed 3 yrs ago and hasn't brought any problems. All the other parts are untouched. The keyboard did get tortured by a few times of coffee spilling, but it survived. Recently my T41 had start to halt (being unresponsive to keyboard and track point actions) during running Windows XP, and then got back to normal. Starting from last week, it won't start and halted at the BIOS start screen. Then in the rare case it did get through, it would halt often while running Windows. I suspect it is due to the keyboard and the track point, but not sure. Could anyone give me any suggestions how to solve it? Thank you very much.

Anytime I try to use a USB 2 device, my Windows XP system shuts down. I took it into a good, local repair shop who attempted to get around the problem by using the card port to insert a dual USB 2 card. This did not work either. After keeping the laptop for over a week during which they claimed to have checked all the drivers and other features, they concluded that it was a problem with the motherboard and I should get a new laptop. Apparently I am not alone on this problem. What is IBM Lenovo doing to address this problem.
