(everything is wired correctly i'm sure of it) causeing drain on my battery... even once there is no power to it..( the light is off) with everything shut off ( ignition included) and just the + and - wires attatched (no remote) the fan still runs... i tried to find some support online but haven't any luck.. and i really like this amp so i would like to know if its expensive to have sent away to be repaired?i'm not sure what the problem is with it but any help in this matter would be greatly appriciated.. many thanks..

p.s. for now i have to manually remove one of the leads to ensure it doesn't drain my battery when i shut my car off.. considering installing a switch for a temp fix but i shouldn't have to......

- it seems like it could be that but even when i uninstaled the fan it was still drawing enough juice to drain my battery over night... and it was in the winter so it wasn;t cause of the heat.... the led light turns off when i shut it down but the fan stays on and even when i had the amp out and hooked it up to a booster pack with only the positive and negative terminals attatched it still runs... when i hook it up you can hear a small squelling sound that comes from what i'm gonna call a resistor or capacitor: looks like a ballast would; metal brick with wires wrapped around it... i had the opertunity to get it repaired at a kenwood dealer and they wanted an outragous price to fix it... i could go buy a new one for what they wanted... thanks for the reply, i would like some more info if i may? i'm gonna assume you live in the states givin the web site you have? i'm in london canada so it may not be worth it for me to ship it... and help with this is greatly appreciated..
thanks again.....
Mike
You might have a bad thermal sensor that tells the fan to stay on. Some fans stay on even after you shut your sytem down. It got so hot in my trunk the other day, my amps fan turned on and my car was not even running for like 4 hours. I just happened to show a friend my amp and it was on. So make sure it's not hot first even if it was'nt running. Other wise I repair amps, I the cheapest you'll ever find with quality work. I also own my own business installing car audio/video systems. My web site is under construction, I'm tryin different layouts and backgrounds but you can check it out if you want, www.markscaraudio.com. Anyway let me know what you decide. If if you go out after a while and the amps cool to the touch it's the thermal circuit or sensor shorted out.
Hello, you have a power supply problem. The thing your talking about is a choke to filter out any unwanted frequencies, like engine whine and other noisy stuff. Or most likely it's the transformer. If you want, I can repair it for you. If your serious I'll send you my number so we can talk. My business line is'nt on cause we are moving into a bigger facility. I do all amp repaiairs at my home anyway, not enough space at the shop. I have people send me amps from Canada, no problem. I am the cheapest, I promise you that. I checked on everybody's prices before I started my amp repair business. I mainly just enjoy doing it.

GM09SR installed April 2009 in 2006 Trailblazer, Radio sometimes will not turn on/off when key is turned on/off, the chimes quit working, etc. When this happens I can "reboot" by disconnecting the car battery cable, after which the Chime and other functions return to normal. Radio used with this is Sony MEX-BT3700U, replacing GM factory basic radio (no bose, satellite, etc) After disconnecting power at battery I have to re-enter all the radio button station presets, bluetooth pairing, etc. Is there a known specific cause, and solution other than disconnecting battery cable?
