Question about Canon PIXMA iP4300 InkJet Photo Printer

1 Answer

Canon iP4300 I have just bought this printer. I installed it on my computer which is running the Vista Home Premium Operating system. When I inserted the Setup CD Rom I had to download a driver from the Net as it said there was a compatibility problem on the CD. I did this the printer is working. But I can't download the On-Screen manual. Also the Quick Start Guide that came with the Printer doesn't say how to set up or how to print directly onto CDs & DVDs.Can you help me with this please. Much appreciated. Trish

Cannot correctly run this installer on this operating system. Usi an installer compatible with your operating system

You need to install the drivers for this printer. You need to use the correct installer for your Windows operating system or Version of Windows. Check the Canon website and download and install the driver for your operating system.

If you are running Windows XP then install the Windows XP drivers for this device on your computer.
If you are running Windows 7 Home Premium, then install the Windows 7 Home Premium drivers for this device, etc... Also be sure to get the right Bit, that being either 32Bit or 64Bit.

Take care!

I have lost the installation disc for my Canon IP4300 printer. Is there anything i can download that will do the same job, or do I have to try and get hold of a replacement disc? Any advice would be much...

Hi,

You can download the installation driver and software from manufacturer's support website by clicking this link

On the page which opens, select the operating system of your computer (Windows Xp/ Vista..) from the drop-down menu. Then download the required drivers and software.

The list of available drivers will load only after selecting the operating system of the computer.

Hope this solves your problem. Thanks for using FixYa.

I bought a canon laser shot lbp2900 printer but whenever I try installing it I get an error message saying that the installer is not compatible. I use windoes vista home premium. please help

It could be possible that the drivers those you have installed for your Printer is not for Windows Vista.
Find the link below to download the drivers for Windows Vista.

http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/PRINTER/CANON/Canon-Laser-Shot-LBP2900-Printer-Driver-R111.shtml

I hope this should resolve the issue once you re-install the drivers, also please be carefully to select the Windows Vista as operating system while installing the drivers.

I just bought a new Dell running 64-bit Vista Home Premium. My problem is, when trying to install my printer, it says the drivers are not compatible with the 64-bit operationg system. The Dell website has...

Contact the Printers Manf. or go to its web site for drivers.
If that fails, you may want to daul boot with a 32bit system.
Also, you may want to Gogle the printer for a 64bit driver.

That is a problem I have run into myself. If there are no drivers available from the Printer manufacturer then you are stuck. Try looking at your printer manufacturer website for updated software, not drivers. Sometimes the solution is is in the Factory software.

Won't load driver on vista home premium...

If you do mean the MP390, item code 9017A002, then you can download the Vista drivers and software from here:
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=334&modelid=9722

Just select your Operating System and click on the download that you want.

If you need me to clarify anything, please ask. If that helps, please rate.

Error -need to re-install the operating system

Insert your Windows Vista Basic CD into the CD ROM drive and restart your computer.

It will autoboot from the CD and you can reinstall Vista Basic.

Should you have further problems don't hesitate to give more details.

Driver issues with vista basic

There are script corrections in Vista Ultimate that other versions of Vista don't have (yet). I have Vista Home Premium, and had to install my printer manually, since Vista incorrectly identified it when I first booted my new computer while hooked up to it. When I tried HP's website, to get the driver to install it, I found that it isn't available, because they simply advise me that in Vista, I don't have to install any drivers, since the drivers for my printer are built into the operating system. That's all well and good, but getting the driver to install automatically wasn't possible. I had to add a printer, and tell Vista that it wasn't connected to my computer so that I could fool it into letting me install the correct printer drivers. It now works, but it seems to me like Microsoft is still the least reliable operating system there is. I'll shut up now. =)
