PS2 Slimline will play music but not games
Our PS2 Slimline suddenly stopped reading the game discs one day. I have tried using compressed air to blow out the inside tray and have used cleaning wipes on the inside tray where the game discs go. I have NOT opened the console, but the unit is long past the warranty period now. Please provide some suggestions.

- Update - After posting the above problem, I tried to follow some of the other tips listed on the forum, and have now discovered that the unit played a music CD when I first plugged it back in today, but now will not even read a music CD either. I have tried a brand new silver game (no scratches) and nothing is being read.Same Problem

- Hi I have just got a PSP2 console scph 90004 as gift from overseas it worked well for ten days and now it can't read any game disc, dvds or audio cds. I opned the cover bcs I cannot return a gift and found a small screw inside it took out but the problem still exsit pls help.- GuestDec 13, 2007
- My son's will not read a dvd.. took it apart and noticed on the dvd it would turn in very short intervals and the laser would work up and down and make a clicking noise. After turning in short intervals like 1/4 disk length it would then stop and start again it would then spin.. then read no data .. Help!! It's just DVD's it will not read movies and games.. as for the alignment of the dvd laser I can't find Pics that show me what to do... LOL.. scph-770001 slimline V15- lostmymindDec 03, 2007
- Mine does the same thing, but also makes an audible clicking noise, i believe that the disc only turns a small fraction of a rotation each click, and otherwise wont spin, ne ideas?- Guest
