Turn intermatic unit very warm to the touch and doesn't seem to be recirculating. Do I need to replace?

1) Trippers can wear down. Transformer can go bad if model has 24Volt output. Relay can go bad.

2) Add a comment Feb 2013 with model number, and include if this is new timer or older timer that worked before and stopped working.

120Volt T1905 Intermatic timer uses WG730 clock motor and 156T1950A tripper.
Timer will last many year by replacing parts, and keeping lubricated with touch of white grease, and not over-amping the 20 amp contacts

This timer can be converted into 208-277Volt timer by installing WG733 clock motor instead of 120Volt WG730.

You probably have T104 timer.
Clock rotates so power to timer motor is good. This means 240Volt breaker is good.
Use override lever and see if Load (light, fan, motor) turns on and off. If override does not turn Load on-off, then bypass timer and see if load works. Move wires from terminal 2 to terminal 1, and terminals 4 to terminal 3.
Did you order correct trippers?

Clock motor has gone bad.
I have no source or part number for the clock motor.
Paragon is no longer making timers and parts.
Patriot shows they still sell 1015-00rs for $187

If you charged the unit correctly without gauges, after a few minutes of operation in warm environment your suction line should be cold to the touch and sweating.

One thing mentioned is that electrical noise can affect timer display.
This may or may not be your problem.
Contact Intermatic and they might send interference filter.
Manual also says to reset unit.
