when trying to film i have a black screen . i can play back tapes no problem but can not film. i record sound on the screen i have the minutes and time remaining but a black screen. if i try to record i can here the recording but can not see anything just a black screen.it is a samsung digital cam VP-D323

This sounds like the CCD sensor is faulty ( this is the device that generates picture in both v-cams and normal digital cameras and sits behind the lens ). Playback is fine but no image ( or very 'noisy' image ) in capture mode.
