ive tried to plug the cpu fan into the cha fan port but the wire isnt long enouph. a friend gave me a switch i dont know what it is but i will try my best to describe it to you its a three way switch that has got www.thermaltake.com stamped on it. the switch positions say M,L,H it doesnt conect to the motherboard like a grafix card, usb card ect but it locks into the back of the computer like them. its got two sets of red and black wires coming off it ,one red and one black to each set. at the end of one of the sets of wires its got a plug that connects to a red, black and yellow plug its the same plug as what powers the hard drive and dvd drives and at the end of the other set of red and black wires coming off the switch its got a white plug with a yellow wire coming out of it if i plug the cpu fan into this white plug and connect the yellow wire to the mother board where the cpu fan goes the pc will start as normal without the error message. sorry for confusing youive tried to plug the cpu fan into the cha fan port but the wire isnt long enouph. a friend gave me a switch i dont know what it is but i will try my best to describe it to you its a three way switch that has got www.thermaltake.com stamped on it. the switch positions say M,L,H it doesnt conect to the motherboard like a grafix card, usb card ect but it locks into the back of the computer like them. its got two sets of red and black wires coming off it ,one red and one black to each set. at the end of one of the sets of wires its got a plug that connects to a red, black and yellow plug its the same plug as what powers the hard drive and dvd drives and at the end of the other set of red and black wires coming off the switch its got a white plug with a yellow wire coming out of it if i plug the cpu fan into this white plug and connect the yellow wire to the mother board where the cpu fan goes the pc will start as normal without the error message. sorry for confusing you

Frist check fan is CPU fan is properly connected, if it is working then put HEAT SINK COMPOUND ON cpu then restart and restore default bios setting, if still problem then check your fan you have install is not compatible for your motherboard
Well if the FAN does NOT spin when plugged into to correct spot in the MB that May NOT be the correct spot, of the spot in your MB is damaged or the BIOS is not set or telling the fan to come correctly
As a work around try connecting the fan to the spot that you tested it from and letting it run, see if the message appears again. Let me know how this works. As a work around try connecting the fan to the spot that you tested it from and letting it run, see if the message appears again. Let me know how this works.

It may make a diff. But the functionality is the same. The BIOS and controll sets function identically. /S probably indicates more features on the Board itself and inturn will have more BIOS features to controll those additional features. It may make a diff. Yes you will need to re install the audio driver. If you do not have the original cd for the motherboard, here is a link to the Audio Driver that you will need.
THE KB MAYNOT BE SUPPORTED BY THAT MANUFACTURE, FAILITY PLUG IN OR DEFECTIVE WIRE THAT RUN FROM THE KB OR THE DRIVERS ARE NOT CORRECT FOR THAT CERTAIN KB.
either in bios or there is a jumper on motherboard to change voltage or contact asus website about the board. are all thw pin straight in the cpu holder on thre motherboard?
Hi, I am confused regarding the model of the Mother board you have:
The P5S800-VM is an LGA775 socket mother-board for a Pentium 4 CPU.
P4-515, on the other hand, does not return any hits on the Asus web-site search.

I think your best solution is to contact ASUS /USA:
1-888-678-3688
and talk to customer support.
They will guide you in identifying the exact motherboard you have, so you can download the driver set from their support site.
BTW.
I think you computer performance is very unbalanced at 256 MB. This is not nearly enough memory to run with such a fast CPU, (2.93 Gigs), and your machine must be terribly disk bound:
1) When your operating system runs out of semiconductor memory, it begins to thrash to disk, which is 10 million times slower then RAM, making the fast CPU a total waste of money.
2) For a normal machine running Windows and a 3Gig CPU you should have at least 1 GB of RAM, preferably 2GB (RAM is cheap these days)
But before I put my foot too deep into my mouth, I notice that you are running FREEDOS, does that mean you are running DOS only (No Windows ?) for some specialized application ?
