If your fan is working this is a good thing. So we know we have good power to the unit.
Your going to need to remove the cover from the unit, remove several screws to get access.
Make sure power is off and where the compressor is, on top remove the cover where the power connects inside and make sure there is no wires burnt, if all is well, move onto the
capacitor.
Its
usually the cause of compressor failure. Write down where the wires are located on the
capacitor (read the top of capasitor) and take the
capacitor to a local appliance supplier and have them test it and if bad then purchase a new one and
replace in your unit.
Also make sure to verify no wires are burnt in the unit or melted together, and it never hurts to clean it while you have it out.
