Re: lost wireless ntework connection all of a sudden?!

First of all open up your wireless utility and look at your signal strength. it should be at least -60dbm. Then what i want you to do is to find out what channels people are using around you (most Access points default to 6) if the majority of the people are using 6 switch yours to 1 or 11. Whatever channel is being used the most you change youes from that one. This should get you going again. If you have other issue get your signal strength and we'll see what is going on signal wise.

I previously was able to connect to internet and suddenly it no longer will connect- is there anything I can try to troubleshoot this? I am running Windows XP

are you sure you are using the right protocol in aqccordance with the information from your provider.. WEP or WPA-PSK?" and the right number to open the gateway?

If the newtwok drops out, sometimes this information is lost and has to be reinserted. If you uninstall linksys and remove the usb and then reinsert it, does it flash and become discovered?
Also make sure you have set up wireless network in XP

If a wrong protocol is inserted Linksys will often report.. Connected to the Network But internet gateway not found... If you get that message then ewither your protocls are incorrect or you have not set up the network correctly. your ISP should be able to guide you through this by phone support.

Adapter will not connect to access point.

On your computer with the wireless adapter, can you "see" the router, and are unable to connect to it, or can you not even see it?

If you can see the router but can't connect, make sure you input the security key and other information correctly. You could try deleting the connection on your computer and re-connecting as a new connection.

You could also try going into the router's settings from a computer that can connect to it and making sure MAC address filtering or any advanced security options didn't get turned on somehow. You can do this by typing the router's IP address into your web browser (which is typically, but you can find it by typing "ipconfig /all" at the command prompt and looking for the entry for the router) and entering your username and password.

Hope that helps! If you still can't connect, do you get an error message when you try, and if so, what is the message?

NETGEAR WG111T 108 MBPS WIRELESS USB 2.0 ADAPTER stopped working

What are you trying to connect your USB wireless device to?
Is it to a wireless hot spot?
or to a Wireless Access Point/Router?
When you find a connection, what is the signal strength?
I assume you have configured your Access Point correctly as well as making it secure. You should connect a computer to the Access Point using a network 10BaseT cable to check the Access Point configuration, especially the wireless configuration.

If you are trying to connect to a wireless Access Point and you have a weak signal, move your computer closer to the Access Point or move the Access Point to a better and higher location to give you a better wireless coverage. Note, walls can affect the wireless signals between the Access Point and the wireless network card and wireless USB device, especially reinforced concrete walls.
