I have a Charmglow model HBL-15SDLP/M20 electric heater. The rocker switch went bad on it and I can't find a replacement part anywhere. The manufacturer said they can't get replacement parts. The part number is HCKD-044. Any suggestions

Same problem here. I was going to try to find this switch, or one like it. Might as well give up huh.

We purchased the same unit in the fall of 2008 and 2 months ago the fan power switch totally fried and almost caused a fire in our home. We are looking for another switch for the unit as well and have run into the same problem with the company not having any parts.

The switch itself is a (double pole single throw ) 15 amp 250 volt /20 amp 125 volt. You can buy any switch like that. The hard part is trying to find the same size to fit the hole in the heater.

Yeah same problem here with heater switch. Almost caused a fire in our house. After taking the unit apart to take out the switch we noticed the wires connecting to the fan switch were all black and melted! Be carefull with this heater!

Same model #, same problem with the rocker switch. Luckily the switch is stuck on the on position, so we plug it in and then unplug when finished. Any suggestions for parts?

The power switch on my Charmglow electric fireplace broke. It had been very difficult to switch on/off requiring a lot of pressure. This time the pressure needed to turn the rocker switch from off to on...

Hi, I think I had tried to help you with this problem before? It should be a single pole single throw rocker type on/off switch. Make sure power is off, and cut the wires and remove it. There are many switches on the market you can replace this with that will work for you. You need to go out to a hardware store, appliance parts house, electrical store to find one to replace it. You should have no problems finding one out there, not on line. They make many universal switches to replace just about any switch like this one. Go through the phone book, or down town to find a place and match it up with the bad one. Good luck to you, you will find one.

I have a Charmglow propane heater model CGL300TQ with a bad fan. Where can I find parts for this stove and does Charmglow have a website for parts?

Depends what is actually wrong with fan, if tis the blower barrel part you can by replacements but if its the fan and you van't find manufacturer try an commercial or indutrial fan place to match the one you have be careful to make sure that it is electrically compatible and that it will connect to heater safely and do as old fan did as fan speeds on heaters can be important

Here is the home site for Charmglow - you could try to call them and see what they say. I would hope they want to keep their customers:

ROCKER SWITCH DIAGRAM

89106a6.jpg
On the top of the switch (inside the heater) there is a common connection.....even though it looks as if it is connected (electrically), it isn't electrically affected by the switch; it's just used as a post. It's just the place where the striped wire connects to the "common" point for the heater coils (they are in a parallel). Also, while you're in there you might want to put some electrical grease on the exposed conductors.....mine had quite a bit of corrosion (which was the reason for the failure). I had to replace 3 of the female connectors.
