Error on shutter

I did a shoot on friday and came home and downloaded all the pics and then I went to do a shoot today and my camera wouldnt work. When you go to take a shot the shutter closes and then and error comes up and says press shutter button again to release. This opens the shutter back up. The picture it takes is only the bottom half of the object you are shooting....any ideas of what I can do to fix this? I have only had my camera 30 days so I have no clue what it could be.

I have the exact same problem. But it wont take a photo at all. I guess my shutter is broken. Not happy. Less than a two months old.

after over a month of it being away in camera repair land...they replaced the shutter and then sent it back and the message came back after about 20 pics....had to send it back again and then they fixed it and shipped it back after 2 wks and they kept my battery so i had to spend $50 on a new battery to come overnight b/c I had to shoot team soccer pics and I had already re-scheduled 2 times and couldnt afford to do it a 3rd not to say that the soccer season was already about to end....they finally shipped my battery back about a week later after they located it and they could care less that i was out another $50 for a new battery for in the mean time.....but now it works great!

The button for shooting and zoom has fallen off my camera. I've had it repaired once before by a company and used it for about a month before it just fell off again. I can't figure out how to align the button properly so the zoom will work again.

I would STRONGLY suggest that you don't wiggle the shutter. Shutters are extremely fragile mechanisms and should not be touched, let alone wiggled.

However, there seems to be some confusion in this discussion about what the shutter is. It sounds like people could be talking about the mirror in the camera. It is perfectly ok to wiggle this up and down, in fact I was going to suggest that. There should be a little mirror on the back of it that flips as you move the main mirror. I'd just check to make sure the mechanism is operating smoothly.

Just found a way to fix the problem. Well worked for me anyway. Remove the lense with the camera on and and using a a soft cloth simply wiggle the shutter. For me it opened within a few seconds and I no longer get that error message.

One of the curtains in the shutter unit is not opening /closing properly. This will probably require complete shutter unit to be replaced , but a trained technician might be able to repair the shutter without having to replace the whole block. At any rate camera should go to your Nikon agent.

Sounds like a settings issue please provide more information such as what is your camera set at; ISO, Shutter speed, F-Stop & how are you using it, manual mode. Aperture priority, shutter priority or Auto? I would need this info to further direct you in trouble shooting your issue.

Why does my Nikon D60 while on auto focus or quick shutter speed either not focus and take the pic or focus and not take pics?

I have a 5D Mark II that has acted up like this. 99% of the time it will reset itself it you power off, remove the lense and allow them to sync up. Try this, it may work for you too!

Have a canon T70 camera I picked up off ebay. Loaded it with film and took a pic of my daughter. Aftrer i shoot the pic the camera did not rewind to the next frame i noticed the shutter locked up about...

Completely. The shutter is badly damaged and I'll be very surprised if your fix has permanently cured it, but fingers crossed... If not, there's only one fix. Chuck the camera away (spare shutter assemblies are nearly as rare as hens' teeth/fresh **** ****) and replace it. There are loads of T-series bodies and later Canon EOS triple digit/Rebel models available for free just by asking on FreeCycle and Freegle. Note that the lens mount used on the T-series is different to the Canon Autofocus mount used on later models. Also plenty of all the other makes as well. You may have to wait and to ask a few times, but it's where I still get the majority of my 35mm film camera equipment.

I have a d 80 nikon and encounter following problem. when i press the shutter-release button i am getting following message error 07. I then pressed again the shutter release button. The same error...

I dont think this is actually an error but,
the "07 is just telling you that the camera is in Raw shooting mode and in that mode you can shoot 7 shots one after the other (with continuous shooting mode on) before the buffer gets full.

See page 140 of the manual and also read about RAW mode settings on your camera.

Cheange the setting from RAW and try taking a pic to see that your "error" goes away.

Nikon D70 lens won't let me shoot

Remove the lens being careful not to get dirt/dust in the camera(very important).

Clean the metal contacts around the lens and on the camera where the lens and camera meet. Your error sounds like a lens communication error.

Again!!! Do Not Get dust/dirt/moisture/ anything in the camera.

Lcd reads system error

Apparently often related to a lens motor malfunction. My old 4300 just gave this error for the first time today. The lens extended but made a whirring noise before the message popped up. Nothing I tried would fix it - but after I drove home it worked fine again.

I had a similar problem over a year ago after the camera fell out of my backpack (it was in its own bag but not well padded). When I used it the lens stuck and refused to retract, but I don't recall a "System Error" message. After a few tries, the lens went in and it's been fine since, until today.

Make sure there's nothing (dust, dirt) stuck in the lens barrels. Otherwise, just keep turning it on and off and hope it works.

Error shoting

It is a technical problem in the hardware of the camera which has to be fixed by a technician.
I just fixed this problem two days ago.
