If its turning on and off then it could be one of three things. 1, the power cable has a faulty connection to the battry, 2, the fuse is either blown or not big enough for the output needed or 3, the remote lead isnt connected properly to the head unit.

cheers, adam

Alpine PDX1.600 amp cuts off

Make sure there's no missmatched impedance. If your sub running 2 ohms then your amp has to be 2 ohms stable. Does the amp blow fuses or get really hot? If it does it can be a fire hazard and I would recommend taking it out of your car. It could be that you don't have sufficient grounding. The grounding needs to be very close to the amp and the paint needs to be thoroughly scratched off. Otherwise could be a blown transistor within the amplifier, you can check this by opening up the amp, running a multimeter and testing the transistors for resistance.

Directed 1100 d turns on but no sound

hi there
few steps to try
1) try grounding amp to a new location
(make sure the amp is grounded by itself)
2) check the power wire from the battery to the amp
3) if the 2 steps don't solve the problem try turning your amp settings down and disconnect the power wire from the amp after a few seconds reconnect the power wire and amp should reset itself.........
if this doesn't work let me know there are other tricks that can be done but these are the most common firsts to be tested (also make sure the ground wire is larger than the power wire)
hope this helps

Amp turns off

Sounds like remote turn on wire is bad. If using aftermarket HU, find another location to power amp. Try the the power antenna wire on the HU to run the REM.

The protect light stays on

is your amp grounded well?
are all of your fuses fine?
connections to stereo?

if all else fails you might have blown your amp like mine, you can see about getting it fixed but i just found another one.

how many watts is your amp? how much does your sub need?

add doide from the battery to the unit, 2 doide should help that.
1 connected to the positive, an 1 connected to the negative. 5-10 amperes is ok. check for the polarity. and try to take off the ground of the unit then try it.

Amp not turning on

wouldn't be the first JL amp I saw fried...but there are some tests you can do. First of all, double check your fuses, they may appear to be fine, but sometimes they are blown even if you can't see it. Either blindly change them or test them for continuity with a digital multimeter. Also, disconnect the remote turnon and jump power directly over from the power wire to the remote terminal on the amp, if the amp powers on then you have to go double check your remote wire. Hope this helps.

Two vasonik amps turn on and the sony amps wont (all i did was switch the wires over) whats the deal

heyman... try checking the fuses on both the sony amps. if they are try hooking up each amp individually...if they will turn on seperatly but not at the same time it could be due to over abuse of the single ground and power leads that feed your amps. meaning that whie 2 amps will draw more power, they will also break down the wires faster. a continuity test of the power and groundwires should also be done.

Fan stays on, light turns off

try using a better ground. while new cars are great, they also have more paint and plastic in the finding a good ground for your amp to run off of isnt always easy. you can try running a gbround cable straight to the negative terminal of your battery to test the amp, poor grounding is the most comon cause of amp failure. ps,the fan may be staying on as a protective service, as if your amp loses ground whenpowered up it will keep the cicuit boardfrom heating up on voltage surges.
