i just purchased a printer lexmark 1200 series all in one ,, and it wont download on my computer.( to say i have a very old computer ) what am i doing wrong

I am trying to connect my printer Lexmark 1200 series and it says in one area cannot find the unit while another area tells me I have new equipment to install. Either way I go it is a no deal.

I purchased a lexmark 1200 series all in one printer and cannot locate the cd that came with it. Is there a way to install it without the cd? I tried but it says can't find hardware.

my lexmark all in one wont scan, keep unistalling and reinstalling the disc.,,, unpluf etc, just a fancy printer now

How old of a computer? If it's REALLY old and running Win 95 still, you may not have USB support. Right click on My Computer and select Properties, then go to the Hardware tab and select Device Manager... you should be able to see if the computer at least detects the printer on the USB port. You may just need to install the drivers manually there.

When I click on Lexmark1200 all-in-one, the only box that comes up saying 'Preparing Lexmark All-in-One Centre for first use, searching for scanning applications'
What is going on?

it just happened that 1200 series printer doesn't work with my computer, every time i tried to print it says that its either unplugged and plugged the cable from computer or restart the computer but its the same thing its still doesn't work.

I'm running Vista on an Acer Aspire 5610Z. I purchased a lexmark 1200 series printer. It worked well. A copy 2 was automatically downloaded. However, it kept defaulting to the original. I deleted the original leaving only copy 2 on my control panel. Now I get the message to reinstall driver. What do I do?
