Hi, I have had my unit for a few years now, and have only ued the DVD a few times, its basically brand new.
The other day i tried putting in a DVD and no luck it will not read it!
ive tried many discs, from many regeions.. and nothing..
PLEASE HELP! i dont want to throw it out because its basically brand new and i baught it for around AU$1000 brand new

It may not be able to read the new format movies. Do you have any old movies to try?
Other than that, when I was repairing them at Sony, they are almost all the same.
A DVD read problem was usually a bad Laser Optic. Replaced thousands of optics between DVD players and Play Stsation 2's.
