Burning speed I used to be able to burn a DVD movie at 6X speed in about 10-12 minutes. However, now, no matter what speed I choose, it takes about 30 minutes. What is wrong?

Whats wrong is that most probably the "Error Correction" circuitry is having huge trouble "Correcting" the "Errors" probably caused by a failing Laser Diode, & OR a faulting "Quadrant detector" inside ya DVD. This is the usual cause I have found with this type of thing. These are very common problems that seem to occur all to frequently if you ask me...

The optical drive in a Toshiba Satellite L455D-S5976 Notebook PC, is a DVD Super-Multi drive, that is capable of using disks that are Double Layer, and R- or R+

In all actuality about what is the best burning speed, it is the Slowest speed that you can choose.

That is usually 4X.
However I would recommend 8X in all situations.
Makes a better burn, and is easily readable by other optical drives.

Makes it simple, huh?

Why do movie files sometimes not play fully to the end when using dvdfab6? This happens after burning it to a disk 1 time.

the secret in burning movies to DVDs are that they must be burnt using the slowest speed....the DVD disk may say 16x...but preferably burn it in the slowest speed of say may take a long time....but it's worth it....this ensures that all data are copied to the DVD with precision.....some times a bit of data is skipped in fast speed coping....and it causes the movie to stop.

How can I burn a CD or DVD of a "movie" I made with photos and music? I am using Microsoft Picture It Express 9. Any help would be great!

Firs of all you need to think on in what format you having that movie in. I guess you want to play it in a ordinary dvd and and they are restricted, all dvds plays mpeg bur not all plays dvix, xvid etc

When you have decided the format you need a burning program, one of the best is Nero ( ) its not free but you can download and try it for 30 days.
Another program is cdburner ( ), that oen is free, not as good as nero in my opinion..but..its free

After installing the burner program you need to select if you need a cd or a dvd disk to burn on, a cd takes 700mb, there are cd:s that takes 800mb but they are more expensive. A dvd takes 4,7gb.

Now its time to burn, start the program select the disk you going to burn on, then its just to drag and drop the moviefile you want to burn. When the movie file is in place, start burning, select the burning speed, dont burn to fast since you burning a movie, i recoemnd a speed of 15-20x speed

After burning, your done! take out the disk ans enjoy your movie!
Let me know how it goes

Good luck

PS, i asume that you have a cd/dvd burner on your pc
