Question about Lexmark Z645 InkJet Photo Printer
I just bought a lexmark z645 printer for basic printing of documents. I have a hp a6019h desktop computer which has vista on it. I cannot get the printer to print. A window pops up that says communication is not available and recommends a) dissconnect and recconect the power supply b) dissconnect and recconect the usb cable c) restart my computer. I have done all and nothing....it is still not working after several attempts. Also I only have a color ink cartridge installed...I didn't realize at the time that the black was not provided. Could this be causing the problem?
No, a missing black cartridge is not the problem. If other USB devices (do you have a usb mouse or camera) work on your HP, you must try the printer on another PC to test the printer is functional. Many outlet stores like Best Buy will allow you to bring in your printer to test it communicating.
