? Microphone? For the other person to hear you the microphone on the phone must work. You cannot adjust that. For you to hear them you need a speaker on your phone. You can adjust the volume of the speaker on your phone. If callers cannot hear you try putting your phone on the speaker, rather than handset mode so it becomes a speaker phone. Then, while talking to someone to test the phone, try holding it in different ways to see if you are covering the microphone with your fingers. Without knowing what model of phone (specifically) you have I can't figure out where these are located on your phone. You can google the model though and locate them yourself easily.
It's not microphone ! I had same probelm, it depends on the phone you are using. Try with different phone model. For example, with Nokia N95 works perfectly (talk, audio, even voice dialing), with Nokia 6220c or N85 sucks... Almost half of the phones that I tried had some issue, very similar to yours. Usually, you can hear everithing but person you talking to hears just loud noise
Analysis- The call can gear very well - indicates that the speakers / head phones are working fine and the audio drivers are working well The called person doesnt hear any thing - it indicates that the caller is not able to transmit sound. This can be a microphone related issue. It can also be skype settings issue.
Please answer following questions to analyze the issue better
1. has this ever worked before? 2. Have you tried using the microphone for some other application like recording some audio? 3. Have you tried audio / video calls using some other chat program like gtalk? 4. Are u using any external microphone attached to a head set or is it the laptops inbuilt microphone?
You need to configure your microphone settings.
When you open Skype click on Tools - Options - Audio Settings and click on Microphone and select the microphone you are using and save the setting.
I don't know the audio/microphone setting for Phone Serve.
the microphone opening is on the bottom left as viewed from the front, when i had this problem it turned out that this opening had some crud in it and simply needed removing. steve
