There is black strip in middle of the screen - Toshiba 42wp48e Plasma Flat Panel Multisystem Tv

This model TV has what's called local dimming, on most brands LED lights are wired like christmas tree lights, take one bulb out the set is dead but on most Vizeo sets each strip has it's own power sourse, chances are some of the strips are bad and need replacing but if you replace one replace them all

Well if it was me I would just replace the TV.

I appreciate your DIY approach, but the job is very delicate, risky and needs high level of proficiency. The screen is lit by several strips of LEDs. In your case probably the middle row of LEDs has failed. You have to open apart the LCD module to find out what kind of LED strips they have used and there is every chance of damaging the delicate LCD screen or the SHEET as they call it. Better hand over the job to someone who can do it.

This sounds like a screen driver problem. You will probably need to replace the screen, which can be expensive. It may be better to replace the TV. Ask a repair shop to give you a repair quote.

my phone display midile black lines and colour sade prablam

Hi I have a LG RZ42px11 there are 6 vertical thick black lines running down the middle off the screen, when cold the TV seems OK but if it has been on for around 10mins or on standby the lines stay on screen.

I have an IBM think pad that developed a 2 inch black strip on the left side of my dispaly. I tried restoring to a previous setting, I updated video drivers, I reset display properties. None of the above worked and am now thinking of formatting and reinstalling windows as a last hope unless someone has any other ideas.
