Problem for Maxent MX-26X3 Television

Dark area on screen.

My tv has had a dark area approx 8 in long on the left side of the screen. You can still watch tv but the image is shadowed. Also, when the tv is paused for any length of time through tivo or on a dvd the image will be retained once I start it back up again, almost a ghost image. Is the set shot ? Is there any way to fix this ?

- Problem is I don't have any speakers except for the ones the tv came with.

-   I also have the dark patch that runs down the left center of the screen on my Maxent LCD tv. I don't have any speakers near the tv.

I can't find information anywhere as to what can cause this problem. is the screen shot?

-   I have the same problem. I have a dark image about 2" wide and 8" long that runs down the left center of the screen that causes the color and black and white programs to be affected. What is the problem? -   Guest

i have had the same problem with the dark patch and found out it was because i had a speaker sat too close to the tv!!!
