I have the identical problem. The set produces sound but the lamp extinguishes for approximately two minutes. The situation has worsened over the last week. I would really like to know if changing the lamp is the remedy.

Tv comes on with a good picture stays on for a few minutes. Next the picture goes out sound stays on the blue power lights blink. a minut later the picture comes back on. This process repeats itself.
